Buy some "Goo Gone", works great and is a handy product to have around.

BlackDog beat me to it!

Any household cleaner or even soap should work with a good sponge, just really get into it.

I use more tape. Dab the sticky side of some tape on the goo, pull it off and hopefully it'll come up on the tape. Works for me anyway.

Goo Gone is great but the stores that don't carry it usually carry Goof Off. Same stuff, works great too.

Goo gone is great, but can leave a wierd residue. i have ued a product called Bestine that is more concentrated and has no orange/oily feel. not sure if it easily available to you. great to have around the house just like Goo Gone.
You can get it at Grainger or most art stores. its primarily used to take ink off surfaces. But i use it to remove the adhesive from foam tape daily.
