Setting yourself up to save a shot that was indeed taken, now I'm not a goalie coach but that seems like pretty good positioning to me...
He was more out of position on the first goal I'll have to admit. I'll have to go watch the replay for the 2nd goal again

But that seems to be his downfall.. he gets out of position way too easily.

DWYER!

It was fine, agreed. If Harrison had taken EITHER of the two low Penguins that goal isn't scored.

And a great shift to end the period, well done Canes...

Of course, 7-2 is still a possibility...

Ah man, would've been great to get one more there. Nice pressure, though.

Canes turned it on at the end of the period. Usually it's the other way around. That was refreshing to see.

How many millions and how many years will Patrick Dwyer get from JR this offseason? And will he get a NTC?

If effort = playing time, Dwyer would be on the first line.

Staal on the 2nd goal is exactly the problem I've got with him. There's no middle ground with him. He dominates on Wednesday, and today, he can't even make the effort to backcheck when he turns over the puck to create a 3-on-1.

And I really wish that last chance didn't come at the end of the period. I'm not entirely convinced that didn't hit the net just behind the bar. Looked like it hit the top of the net then came out. Usually they review it at the next stoppage, but the next stoppage was the end of the period.

That Dwyer goal was something special.

Sutter loses the faceoff, but Dwyer digs it out and eventually it leads to him gettin a goal

i'm upset with the lack of Staal's awareness that Crosby is on the ice rather than his effort...of course Sid is gonna poke it away and burn you if you give him a split second opportunity

Pretty difficult to blame either the goalie or the defenseman on a 3 on 1, but some on this board managed to do it.

It was Babchuk's fault.

Dwyer takes his tangibles and turns it into tangability. We need more tangability.

Not blaming Harrison. It's 3 versus 1, obviously the numbers overwhelm the Canes there. My point was that Peters was at the mercy of the Penguins there. Frankly Staal was the player putting in the least effort on that play.

I think people have figured out how to play the Cole-Ruutu-Skinner line... Very little good shifts the last few games

Don't think they're playing poorly...it's just that Skinner isn't flying below anyone's radar anymore. Skinner has seemed to be missing some passing/feed opportunities with open men though. Probably should be playing a little less selfish because D is definitey keying on him now.

We're going to have to score about 8 goals to win this game.
