Yeah dude, I love Koivu, but he does not have a good shot. Delude yourself if you want, but it's his biggest weakness, moreso than his pretty average speed.
lol no no no are you serious? your saying koivu a professional hockey player and our teams leading scorer last few years has a bad shot because he doesn't always get the goals? please. Goalies do make good saves in this game, incase you were wondering.

**** you, Wild. Boogaard a non-factor? I don't think so. We showed no physicality at all. From anyone but burns, really. we looked scared out there, and i think that was the difference in the game--the attitude we showed was screaming "**** me!"

that said, fourth line was our best.

Scandella suck hard, live. absolutely no business keeping him up here over falk at this point. Earl? Boooooooo!!!!! almost wish boogaard had knocked him out of the game.

What kind of logic is that? Goalies make good saves on Stamkos too, yet he scores a boatload of goals on a high number of shots. See, I can be hyperbolic to prove my point too.

And since when does leading scorer mean successful goalscorer? There's this little thing called assists, too...

Fact of the matter: He has a bad career shooting percentage, logic dictates that that means he doesn't have a good shot. Need another example, how about some stats....

He takes a LOT of shots, again, top 30 in the league last year. Yet he was BARELY top *80* in goals. There were 219 players with a higher shooting percentage last season. Need some more proof? There were SEVEN more players on the Wild alone with a higher shooting percentage. Even Antti "Missthenetagain" has a higher shooting percentage, 2 fewer goals on almost 75 fewer shots.

Plain as day, he does not have a good shot and never has.

Koivu takes a ton of shots entering the zone or that are blocked. You rarely see him in the slot(exception last game tying goal).

I pick the worst ****in games to go to. Would've been better off staying home watching Hockey Night. By the end, I'm not even sure what I was booing: Lazy players, idiotic coaches, weak officiating, or Gaborik.

All of the rookies looked completely out of place. Scandella was lost, Wellman was invisible, I don't even know what to say about how abysmal Earl was.

Richards' system just doesn't work. Everyone complaining about the way we managed to steal our past few wins was completely right--this is exactly the kind of collapse that's just looked inevitable. This is what we get for hiring a failed OFD as our head coach. Play with no responsibility.

I'm almost positive Richards was an offensive defenseman, wasn't he?

In any case whatever he says between periods needs to change, because I'm tired of these lazyass second periods. Here's hoping for another bag skate tomorrow.

His career stats certainly point being an offensive D-man.

Didn't really think Scandella was all that bad myself. Neither of the goals he was on the ice for did his guy score. Sure he loses puck battles and fights the puck at times, but so does everyone else on our team. Not sure if 10 mins in the NHL is better than 20+ in Houston, but still don't believe he's got a long enough look for a 1st year pro(15 games minimum).

His stats would make you think so, that was my impression too.

38 games 21 points
49 games 51 points
34 games 40 points
46 games 38 points

That's his 4 years at the U. I'd say he was an OFD.

I honestly don't think a bag skate is the answer. I think he's just lost the players... They don't respond to yelling, they don't respond to silence, they just don't respond...

Protips from someone at the game:
1) Trade Cam Barker!!!
2) Koivu and Burns actually try, play them more.
3) Wild fans need to stop being so ******** about Gaborik leaving. Get over it please. Booing everytime he touches the puck isn't necessary.

1. agreed.
2. better linemates for Koivu should be a bigger concern, he looks like he's playing alone out there lately... Burns is already playing huge minutes though, keep that in mind. 25+ tonight for example.
3. generally agree, but it's still funny that he gets booed, at least to me.

1 and 3 sound about right. As for point 2, don't see how 25+ and 19.5 minutes are not enough for Burns and Koivu respectively.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing their TOI/G stat boosted by about 5 minutes.

Do you want to kill them dude

I'm sure you play the game, so you know how exhausted you can get after playing a game. Imagine playing NHL type style and for 25-30 minutes. I'm sure they are in way better shape than me, but holy hannah just thinking about what my body would feel like the next day after that many would be brutal.

Yeah, it's not a serious suggestion, it's just something that'd be nice if it could happen. Forgot the face. Kinda. It just annoyed me to see Brent Burns out there tonight as probably the hardest working player on the ice for both teams, and he had barely any support.

Cal Clutterbuck gave him support on the Dubinsky goal

Unfortunately for Cal, that won't count as his first assist of the season
