I don't like Schultz at #24. Change it to O'Neill or Lyamin and I give it an A.

Aaah yes, Schultz & Carson - Cory Cross & Kevin Hatcher(without the offense).

I like the Fransson pick alot, he's underrated around here.

Overall i'd give this a C+. Wheeler & Hromas are possible sleepers, but Gracik & the two tall D-men are not very high on my list.

I like Minnesota born players, but the big guys from there always seem to play rather soft for their size, IMO.

#6 Olesz
#24 Green
#37 Wheeler
#38 Lyamin
#46 Lepisto
#48 Garlock
#52 Parshin

I think Green and Garlock are fairly safe choices if they're available. The rest are more "feast or famine" types. This, I think, is a great draft if we can get it.

Are you sure those are the correct order of our picks? #6 #24 #37 #38 #46 #48 #52. I tried to figure it out and came up with it below, I posted it at MSG network so I cut and pasted it here. If you can explain it the way you have it.

I put all our picks in # order and who they are from, forget 7 out of the top 60, its out of the top 48 or 49! So for those of you that want the # order its below, there are 2 compensation picks in the 2nd round this year so anything after them gets pushed back 1 pick so I could be off by 1 but worst we could do is 7 out of the top 50. correct me if im wrong..

#6 NYR pick 1st round.
#24 Toronto 1st round.
#36 NYR 2nd round.
#37 Avs 2nd pick from FL so its a better pick!
#44 Oilers 2nd pick.
#46 RJ Hamburger comp pick in 2nd round.
#49 Habs 2nd pick.

i love the 1st two picks, please god let it happen, I would love to get Travis Zajac with one of the 2nd round picks. If tukonen is picked before #6, I want Schremp.

i dont want Olesz(not sure about his offensive potential) or Ladd(I like him but we picked a power winger with the 1st pick last year).

What I would go nuts for if the rangers #24 pick can be moved up enough to get both Ladd and Schremp. Imagine that line of Ladd, Schremp and Jessiman.

Also, I love Tukonen, but with new CBA, I think European players are going to be harder to sign. With the European leagues paying more money, the NHL paying less and the NHL being so much more brutal and punishing, I think the European player will think twice about going to the NHL. The European player doesnt have the passion to win the Cup like a North American, especially Canadians. I have a rule, when two players are equal and one is European and one is North American, I draft the North American due to signability. I think you will see the Canadian Junior leagues and the North American Colleges very popular during the draft.

the official draft order has been released...the pick from the oilers is #48 (comp pick oilers got for leetch) and the montreal pick drops to #51 because of comp picks (and the rangers get both comp picks that push that pick down 2 spots)

5 players that I really want to get in the 2nd round are Jeff Schultz, Nokelainen, Wharton, Soderberg and Wheeler.

I would love to land Olesz/Ladd with the #6 & Valabik/Green w/ the 2nd 1st rounder. In the second round my first hope is to nab Lauri Korpikoski (y'all know whom I'm talking about), if he is still available. I think that he would be a steal w/ the 36th. Or a Grahme if he is still there. Besides from those 2, Pinneualt would be another to look at at either #37 or #36 if Korpikoski and Pinneualt are unavailable. Other good 2nd round picks would be Fistric, Zajac, Booth, & Devan Dubnyk.
So basically, I'm hoping for this:

#6 Olesz/Ladd (Thelen if both are unavailable)
#24 Valabik/Green
#36 Korpikoski (Grahme if he is somehow still here)
#37 Pineault
#44 Fistric
#46 Zajoc
#49 Wheeler/Dubnyk/Booth

I would be pretty ecstatic if we were to nab something that would look close to that. I think that the above is a pretty good balanced draft and would help stock our depth across the board, not to mention that by getting Olesz, Korpikoski, & Pineualt, our forward prospect outlook would drastically improve.

My dream draft day:

#6-Andrew Ladd/Rostislav Olesz
#24-Mike Green/Johan Fransson
#36-Kyle Wharton
#37-Kirill Lyamin
#44-Ryan Garlock
#48-Chad Painchaud
#51-Martins Karsums/Matt Christie

Gotta love those sub-6 footers that go unnoticed somewhat. Question: With "Sathers" previous risks like Prucha, Dawes who do you see Sather taking a chance on out of smaller guys such as Painchaud, Karsums, Christie, Lammers, Reddox, Parshin, ****ikov, Krecji, Pohl, Ihnacak, Olimb?

The deal is too lopsided in the Rangers favor. McPhee would be taken away from the draft table in handcuffs. They'd need to get a player that would have an impact on their team. We have to give to get. Throw Blackburn or Tyutin on the table and maybe they bite. But Lundmark and some draft picks isn't getting it done.

Thats what I thought until I read the articles about Mcphee and what he wants to do... If so I would throw in Blackie not Tyutin... There are no other Tyutins on the team we still have Lunqvist though

It would have to be a cringe worthy deal. I think if anyone tries to trade for the top slot they're going to overpay.

Pure fantasy here: Wouldn't it be great if the Rangers someone managed a trade for No. 1 overall and pick Ovechkin. They there's no seasone next year and theleague announces that they're keeping the draft order exactly as it the following season. The Rangers would have the 1st overall again and would pick Crosby. LOL!! I know it could never happen, but it's fun to daydream.

I think that what the Rangers should do is draft Ovechekin this year and keep him in Russia for one season, and keep the lineup how it is and get Crosby next year!!!

OVECHEKIN CROSBY JAGR

I like this result....But, just to put a little different spin on it...

#6 Radulov (OK, OK, I'll settle for OLESZ)
#24 Korpikoski (This is a tough one, the Rangers will problably draft a D-man)
#37 Blake Wheeler (Like him alot, but not sure he will last this long)
#38 Lyamin (love what I read about this kid)
#46 ROMAN TOMANEK (I want this kid, especailly if we don't get Radulov)
#48 Mark Fistric
#51 Garlock/Booth/Parshin (I'm a bit tapped out by here...)

Thanks, from what i read and see i think yuknov could be a good 2nd line center, if he bulks up and works on his strength some (i know, that could be said about a lot of these kids)
