Expected Van lines vs Chi: Sedins-Samuelsson/ Raymond-Kesler-Burr/ Torres-Malhotra-Torres/ Glass-Perrault-Schaefer. Luongo starts.

Hansen morphed into Torres. My mistake.. Torres-Malhotra-Hansen on third line.

Finally... about time!! Could have gone in the GDT, but...

Torres is so good he plays on the third line twice.

Torres-Malholtra-Hansen maybe?

Makes sense about Rypien though... Perrault's a true center and Schaefer is a key PK player for the team.

and is Schaefer really any better than Rypien? I mean, c'mon... this guy played beer league hockey last year.

He is fifth on the PK depth chart, behind Kesler, Malhotra, Burrows, and Hansen. The only time Schaefer will see more than a few seconds killing penalties is if one of these four are sitting in the box.

About time. This fourth line still isn't a world beater but Rypien has by far been the worst player in the lineup.

Hoping to see the best 4th line this year. Even if it is still pretty bad, I hope it's better than the other ones.

Really surprised Vigneault would make Rypien a healthy scratch. Hopefully this serves as a wakeup call to Rypien as he's not only been horrible with and without the puck but also bringing very little in terms of energy and physicality. Glass and Rypien should really be competing for the same roster spot and hopefully this is a sign of change on that abysmal 4th line.

Burrows finally moves down the lineup into a role he's more likely to succeed in. It took a little longer than I would have liked but going pointless in 7 of 8 games playing with 2 guys on pace for 110 points just doesn't cut it. It's actually quite remarkable the twins are on pace for so many points playing with an offensive black hole on right wing for nearly half the season.

FYI, they're at a 123pt pace since Burrows came back. They were at a 98pt pace before he came back. I'd say early in the season Sammy (and whoever else was tried out) was just as much of a black hole, so if you're going to say half the season you might as well say the whole season.

We just lost a huge amount of pugilism in our lineup.

Fire Alain Vigneault.

Rypien should be sent down on a "conditioning stint". A change of venue and different coaching might benefit.

123 point pace with a winger scoreless in 7 of 8 is very impressive - and like you said, Samuelsson has been very pedestrian as well.

Makes you wonder where they would be had Burrows come in healthy and on top of his game to start the year. Maybe these guys are perennial Art Ross level players? What a development for the Canucks...

Wow - the drama over roster rotations of 3rd pairing D-men and 4th line forwards is staggering.

On paper, this is the probably the best 4th line dressed for the Canucks.

Yeah, I want Cloutier back so that the Drama is all about the key players! On a serious note, it tells that the team is good when the 4th line is the biggest concerns for the fans.

Schaefer isn't very good at all, but yes, he's better at hockey than Rypien.

Odd AV would choose to bench him vs. a rival where he may actually be useful.
