This would have been the better choice, IMO....

a natural 4-3 end.

Great. I still dont think we were ready to go to a 3-4. All the wrong personnel. Still.

Meh.

going to the 3-4 we had to go defense. I sure as hell hope he is good in pass coverage. Has he ever been in pass coverage? Cant be worse than Carter.

Redskins kind of pooped the bed with that trade down. No one was left and they had to take a lower tier player.

Kerrigan is not a 4-3 end, nor is he a "lower-tier" player. He's a multiple technique LB/DE with the best character and ethic at the position in the draft.

Beautiful sequence of events for the Skins.

Not a fan of making a player change positions with such a high pick. I still dont like the pick. I am sure the player is a total stud mind you. I hate the 3-4.

Any chance that we draft Titus Young in the 2nd round, if he's there?

I would of preferred Cam Jordan, having already played in a 3-4 in college. Who mind you has bloodlines, good character, and a high motor.

Did anyone on the set even mention that we run the 3-4? I am playing Tiger Woods 12 on a second TV and may have heard wrong.

I went to ES to confirm... Error 500

Kerrigan's strength is his high motor, character, intelligence and versatility. He's also great at creating fumbles and the like...which is a part of Haslett's value system.

I can't remember the last time Washington had 3 picks in the first two rounds.

Agree 100%.

Look, Cam Jordan was out there, who is a proven 3-4 commodity. Obviously the coaches thought about this issue, and they selected Kerrigan. Huge motor, great character, low risk, smart pick. You can certainly say that you would have preferred this guy or that guy, but if you aren't satisfied with this pick, you don't understand football.

And for whoever said they would rather stay at 10 and take a different Dlinemen over adding the #49, you're on crack.
