what's the point of having Weber here to be playing forward? he hasn't been very useful on the PP yet. i'd much rather called a forward called up from hamilton. Palushaj was pretty good with gomez and gio during the preseason.
Ive got a $100 bet with a Kings fan at work. It's a little early but does anyone know if Price is starting Wed? I said its a go as long as he's in. After tonight's performance (excluding Price's play) I'm a little sketchy...

I wouldn't be surprised if they started Auld. Seems as good a time as any.
Then again the Kings are one of the best teams in the league. Maybe they start Price on Wednesday and leave the Thrashers for Auld on Friday.

Hey guys
Can any of you upload a vid of when Eller takes Briere's stick and throws it aside during the faceoff
pretty please?
That was the most bad ass moment of the game, I like that that are rookies are intimidated by "veterans"

I like Eller! Brière was like a litlle girl beside him!
Meh, upsetting game how we lost, but expected when you let the Flyers dictate the play for 2 periods. Its a game that highlighted this teams three most glaring weaknesses.
1) This team still misses Markov, especially on the powerplay, transition game and big minutes(limiting Hamrlik and Spacegoat's minutes in the process).
2) This team doesn't have the size to effectively compete with bigger, north-south style teams. The Flyers (once they started skating) were able to dictate the play. Montreal can only really beat these kinds of teams when they are skating at there best and passing well, which they weren't this game.
3) This team has no real offensive depth. At the most they have 5 top-six players and with all of them in slumps right now, goals are hard t come by. At least the 3rd and 4th lines are improved from last year, to the point were they can actually win games without any real scorers connecting (although in those cases, Price must beat his best).
Other than Price, nobody really had a good game, although the bottom two lines looked solid as did certain members on D. The biggest problem ATM is the top six. Pleks is in a mini-slump, AK and Gio couldn't connect and Cammy looked a step to slow. This of course leads to Gomez. He is in the mother of all slumps right now. I appreciate Martins attempts to try to get him going, but at the quarter way point, it may be time to change tactics. Giving Gomer ice-time and trying to find a fit on his wing hasn't worked. I say if the carrot isn't working, try a stick. Move him off the 2nd line and try Eller (who has looked much better as of late) or even Halpern in his spot for a few games. I don't think Eller or Halpern are the long term solution there (at least not yet for Eller anyway), but a shake-up could motivate other veterans and shock Gomez specifically. At this point it seems like a shake-up, a deviation from the norm, may be the only way to get him going.
or some variation of the like. Its not something drastic like a benching, but it sends a message. I know its a loss, against a superior team, but it doesn't mean that problems shouldn't be addressed.

I love Eller, he's awesome
But I cant believe the guys from l'antichambre have a hard on for DD, give Eller a chance first, if that doesnt work out (which I highly doubt) then think of DD
They are seriously ridiculous

I'd like to see Eller center Pouliot and Cammalleri. Halpern between Lapierre and Weber, and Gomez between Moen and Pyatt.
We played a good first 20 minutes, after that we allowed them to take the play to us. If not for Price it could have been ugly.
Cammalleri needs to go back with Pleks and Kostitsyn. Gomez needs to be pulled from the the top 2 lines, try Eller with Gionta and either Moen or Lapierre. If Weber isn't going to play D, dress Darche. The Pouliot, Halpern and Darche line has been our best line most nights and we could have used Darche's size tonight. Put Pyatt and Moen or Lapierre with Gomez.
Martin also has to quit sitting on the lead, a 2-0 lead against a team like Philly with 3 offensive lines is a team you cannot try to shutdown only after 20 minutes.
Quit giving Gomez the minutes with top players, he is so predictable. Carry the puck in over their blueline and either lose it or pass it off to a player being covered. Gomez needs to be held accountable, $7 million dollar salary doesn't allow him to dictate where he plays.
