It's not going to happen today. Entire hockey world is at the funeral of Pat Burns.

DO WANT !!!!!

I have been a Spits fan for a while now and to see how Bob Bougher and Warren Rychel have changed the team and atmosphere there is AMAZING !!!

I would say let Ronny play out the year (and Boughner play out his contract in Colombus) than bring Bobby in. Good ol' Canadian boy who works EXTREMELY well with a younger group.

And bringing in Gilmour to be the Asst would just be the icing on the cake.

Would have to agree.

That would be in bad taste.

But I can always hope

Don Cherry For Coach

I dont know about you, but cherry seems to be right about a lot of things he says on HNIC. I mean of course he only points out when hes wright, but he addressees many of the problems that are directly affecting a team. He speaks with integrity, makes the moves that some people dont want to make. Ultimately cherry in his prime would be a good passionate coach for the leafs which we lack.

Zigomanis and face-offs
Kadri and being called up
Probably others

Hes said many times that hes a leafs fan, i think having him in the locker room over Wilson would be perfect,.. well anyone other than Wilson would be perfect... Maybe im just foolish, but hey it would be dam entertaining to see him on the bench. but i dont want the leafs causing him to have a heart attack and all.

Cherry has been bang on about a lot of what he has said surrounding the Leafs lately, I would still much prefer him to stay with HNIC and not coach anyone.

So, Boughner, Dougy, Dale Hunter, etc. What are the chances these junior coaches bail mid season on their teams?

Another thing, how the hell is Keith Acton still here?

It's not gonna happen period. Despite what some people's "sources" say, Burke himself said in an interview just yesterday he has no issues with the coaching staff.

Burke knows there is a huge problem with the coaching staff, he's just not going to say it in public.

Of course he wouldn't say it publically but how do you know he thinks that?

I wouldn't count on that. He said the same thing last year. IMO he actually believes what he's saying. If he didn't Wilson would be gone already

If he doesn't realize it by now (which I highly doubt) this franchise has much bigger problems then just the coaching staff.

Burke is very smart and knows how to play the role, to think him and Nonis have not had a few conversations about this would be short sighted.

2+ years of disastrous special team statistics with a completely overhauled roster is more then enough to get the ball rolling.

Gauranteed they have discussed removing the Coach. I imagine they felt there isn't a better replacement option out there.

How was it a good move to call a timeout near the end to allow T.B to rest it's players? I mean seriously....

He needed time to come up with the masterful defensive strategy that evidently was easily picked up by Bozak and MacArthur.

Exactly what would give you that impression. As much as it pains me, I take Burke at face value when he says he will trade 33 players before he fires Wilson.

He didn't get fired, he just resigned his position. And any coach would have led Edmonton to last place last year, they were that bad.

This team really needs a new coach. There is no other change that will turn this team around in any kind of near-term. Having Phaneuf and Armstrong back will certainly help, but it's not enough. The team is making dumb mistakes over and over again and after being near the bottom of the league for the duration of Wilson's term, it's time for a change.

Sure he was, they just respect him enough to let him walk instead.
