i'm beginning to think that Wolski might be the best choice for us...

I'd prefer, in this order:
1.) Robbie Schremp (C)
2.) Wojtek Wolski (LW)
3.) Kyle Chipchura (C)
4.) Boris Valabik (D)
5.) Travis Zajac (C)

I think it's time for the organization to take a risk on players who have higher upside as opposed to a safe pick, organizational depth allows them to do so. Chipchua would be the perfect predecessor to Johnson on the third line, but at this point - take the risk. At this rate, it won't be long before the Predators won't have an opportunity at players such as Schremp and Wolski.

Valabik looks good as well and could become an excellent defenseman for the Predators - the giant (6'6" 220) crease cleaner the Predators are looking for, if he drops and Wolski, Schremp are off the board - I'd have to take a long look at him and Chipchura. Valabik has been compared to Chara, he's solid.

I have all the faith in the world in the Predators scouting staff to make the right pick though - they do an insane job at drafting. At 15th - the Predators can definitely nab someone solid.

The city paper today eluded to the fact that we might take a goalie for our #1 pick. Maybe I'm just dense, but does that seem likely to any of you?

Agreed, if the best player available in the minds of Poile, Shero and Co. is a goalie, then by all means, take a goalie. It's our second greatest prospect need after center. You can never, ever have too many goalies.
