Its hard to fairly judge it when the goalies come in cold half way through the game.. but JP played good and I know Cameron trusts him so I could see him sticking around to be the backup not the starter though.

I think its gotta be either Pickard or Roy for #1 job, but Pickard didn't play as sharp tonight but that might be because he came in cold.

Needless to say, the tender situation is tight.

Yah, Couturier's listed as a winger, too, but both he and Howden play an awful lot of centre for their respective junior teams. I've seen Howden have dominating faceoff performances against the Oil Kings (ok, not exactly the toughest of challenges, but still).

And although I can't say I've seen Sheahan play wing, I'm sure he could if needed.

Actually, the tourney being in Buffalo this year had a bit of influence on my choices because I figure they might have some extra motivation as "hometown favourites", but it's not like any of them are a drop off in talent in comparison to someone else who could be there, at least not imo.

I'm hoping JP and Cizikas (who probably will) get cut so we can have them back in Mississauga (cut the coach too while you're at it lol).

Although it's probably better for their development to miss a few OHL games and play at the juniors tbh.

Hey, I gave him his due on page 17!

As for Foligno's chances for the Canadian junior team, I don't know, I think he might have a pretty decent shot even if he is somewhat on the outside looking in right now. We always seem to send at least one crash and bang line to this tourney and Foligno's as good as anybody at that when he's on his game. I think he might surprise a lot of people and make the final squad.

The guy I'm really not sure about is Kassian because you just never know which Kassian is gonna show up, the supremely talented one or the slug.

I think there's probably a very good chance that one will be back tomorrow (JP) and the other the day after (Casey).

Ya, I hear what you're saying...the race is definitely tight either way

It wouldn't shock me if they went with the 2 goalies they thought were the most solid and less likely to be a gamble though...I understand the familiarity factor, so if they think JP is a solid backup then take him along

The thing about this year is that, unlike past years, one goalie may not take us the whole way without having a bad game...so I think they want 2 guys they like enough to be able to put them in against a Russia or USA team and still have a chance to win

Watched the Highlights on TSN and those goals on Visentin were from some pretty sharp angles.

IMO it's Pickard and Roy. Starter to be decided...

lol. If you think Leblanc won't make the team you are far off. He was one of the three best forward in the summer camp and he is a versatile player. He will be in without a doubt.

I was at both games and IMO if Anderson makes the team it's only because of Cameron and familiarity. I wasn't impressed at all.

Depres should make the team on merit from the regular season, he seems to be trying to do to much at camp instead of playing a simple solid game. On that note though, I don't think he'll make it because of his play at camp.

If that is the case though, then Gudbranson shouldn't make it either, but he will because of his size.

Dylan Olsen was very impressive in both games, more so tonight though.

Murphy and Murray both looked solid again tonight, smart decisions, good first passes and not afraid to take chances on offense, good one on one battles too.

Casey Czikas played well again tonight as well, I think he will make the team because he is a great team guy, and would buy into the team concept no matter what his role is.

Joey Hishon is a guy that I was hoping to see something out of after being a surprise pick by Colorado last year, but I felt like I needed to watch for him on the ice to be able to notice him. He was definitely noticeable in the shootout though. Great hands.

It's not that he was bad all, it's just that he wasn't noticeable. That can be good too because it means he wasn't making many mistakes.

A lot of people seem to be taking him out of their projected line ups and I haven't heard his name mentioned on the highlights either.

I'm wondering this as well.

He had a nice goal in the highlights.

my bad . I've forgotten Schenn, incredible Edited now.

...I get accustomed there are no NHLers or AHLers in the Canadian Junior Team usually (in recent years, at least, except WJC-2005 for evident reason), so the presence of Schenn and Pirri is a little of unusual, I guess.

As a Wings fan, I'm excited. It seems to me that Bob McKenzie is pretty high on Sheahan and has tweeted about him a fair bit. Even if he doesn't make this team, it'll be great for him because he was having a pretty mediocre season and supposedly was a bit down in the dumps mentally. Win or lose, this is just what he needed.

No Leafs prospects on the team as Ross and Blacker also go. Not really a surprise there.

no big surprises on the first round of cuts.

Tonight's game will have all 4 goalies playing I believe, 2 will play for the university team and 2 for Team Canada.
