Riley Sheahan scores for Canada, 1st goal this year ! Really hope he makes the team, apparently he's been playing well.

Kinda surprised that Wilson got cut, though. And with Cizikas getting the night off, maybe he ends up playing the wing with Schenn and Kassian. Or centre with Foligno and Hamilton.
Ive never seen Cizikas play so I wont jump to conclusions but do you really think that if Hamilton and Foligno make it that Sheahan doesn't? Hes a big, physical defense first centerman which would be perfect in the role with Hamilton and Foligno. Plus they have chemistry already.

Is Cizikas that much better or playing that much better in camp to break up a line that has great chemistry?

If you're making the team despite not scoring a goal in 16 CCHA games and only one so far in the TC Camp then you know it's a weak year

I wouldn't read much into stats. Sheahan's a really good hockey player. He'll be one of the best two way forwards on the team if he makes it.

Yah, I wouldn't advocate breaking the only line that's clicked throughout camp, but Cizikas is gonna have to play somewhere. Personally, I'd much rather have him at 4th line centre than 1st line wing.

Cizikas is a great two way player

Most nights our best player with Mississauga and can push the tempo real well with his speed

One of the best Pk'ers in the OHL

I really hope he makes it

But cameron isnt an idiot, if the injury affects him alot they will take someone else.

Not trying to sound like a dick here but if you only have one goal all season, you aren't a really good two-way forward.

Shutdown specialist? I think so.

This is true, Notre Dame is extremely defensive. He comes to this camp and has 3 points in 3 games when playing more wide open and against kids his own age.

Not to mention he is probably the best defensive forward of the bunch.

If he's sitting out tonight, it's virtually a guarantee that he's locked up a spot.

I'd give that nod to Curtis Hamilton. But Sheahan stays to play center with him hopefully.

People have been saying he is hurt thats why he isn't playing tonight. Cameron knows him well so he doesn't really need to see him play as much as some others probably.

I wouldn't say hes a lock just yet

He's injured. Lower back injury. That's why he is sitting tonight. But he has an edge though. Cameron hasn't seen much of the other two in Pirri and Sheahan.

Havent seen this mentioned but Cameron said some centerman may move to wing and Courturier is playing the wing tonight.

Potentially being shifted there for the tourney?

Foligno making the team would be awsome for Sabres fans, and all signs point he's played well enough to.

Sounds like Team Canada is kinda dominating the play...at least with respect to shots anyways

With ross cut now I think Foligno will make it, especially after the camp he has had. He's got some chemistry and will be that bottom 6 bruiser Canada always likes to send

Which NHL team drafted Sheahan???

Detroit?....nuff said!

Take it easy folks on this team, they are in an extremely tough grouping and when they do make it out of it (and yes they will)
they will have been battle proven.
I think we get hung-up on who's not at camp because of the NHL and we downgrade the players that are in camp.
Some of these players will be in the NHL next year.

Relax....grab a good lookin' girl and stand under some mistletoe!

People are giving the American's speed way too much credit. They will be good, but this team isn't in the rough shape defensively that they were in last year, at least they don't appear to be on paper.
No, the Yanks out skated pretty much the whole team Canada and were dictating both the tempo and the outcome of the gold medal game with their 2 goal lead until Eberle's magic barely tied it late in third.

It'll be a mistake to under estimate the importance of speed.

What's speed without agility?

What's power without control?

Really? Sorry, didn't realize he was nursing an injury. If he is, I'd rather not have him on the team, especially with his style of game.
