After a quick search of your board I couldn't really find what I was looking for so I thought I would ask... I am coming to the Dec 10 game vs. Montreal for my gf's brothers stag with a bunch of guys. We are coming from Canada and I was just curious as to 2 things... 1. Does Joe Louis Arena take Canadian money? and 2. What are beer prices like?
I have yet to decide who I will cheer for... I am a leafs fan so I am going to have to suck it up one way or the other! Hopefully its a good game!
Best thing to do is to put money on a pre paid visa card before you come over. The exchange rate is almost one for one anyways and you have no worries about losing any cash. If you have anything left over you can spend it when you get home
That is expensive. How much do you get for that price?
Here (Holland) we pay like $4
I do believe for the $8.50 price you are getting a 24oz. $7 is a bottle...I think 16oz.
I barely drink when I go to the games because it's too expensive and I rather try my luck at winning a signed puck (already won once) and get a free coke ($1 upgrade to a large and imo not to shabby). Oh and I rather have a huge margarita but they raised the price of that this year too. It use to be $10 but now it's $10.50. Cheapest I ever got beer at the Joe was 2 years ago on St. Patty's day. They had green beer for $3 before the game. I had about 3 of em.
At least the prices at the Joe are cheaper than Ford Field. For the largest beer with a fancy cup, $11!!!!
Ya I was expecting it cheaper when I heard the girl say 8 bucks I was like "WTF", then she slammed down one of the fattest can's around and I was like "Oh......niiiiiiiiiiiice".
Don't know what they are chargin at the ACC but I can't see a better value than at the Joe.
Agree. For the size of the beers the prices are fine in comparison to the Canadian rinks. The fun is an hour later...when after a huge lineup ( I don't like to miss any of the game ) you get to belly up to the trough and Mr. Happy drunk beside you wants to chat hockey while simultaneously almost whizzing on you..lovely.
It is a great rink to see a game though. Your friends can cheer on the habs without worrying about all the bs that goes on in Buffalo. Enjoy.
