Pittsburgh - Chicago proposal

The Penguins send the 2nd overall pick and the 31st overall pick (2nd round) to Chicago for Tuomo Ruutu and the 3rd overall pick.

Surely the Penguins would have to sweeten their end of the bargain, but by how much?

Personally, I just stick at #2.

I'll take Malkin and be happy.

Tuomo Ruutu and Cam Barker for Evgeni Malkin and a late 1st?

Yikes... awful trade for the Blackhawks.

Ruutu is everything they could want in a Hawk; why trade him?

Yikes! No thanks on that one. Ruutu is what us Hawk fans have been waiting for. He goes no where.

Love the pic Jacobv2 (its called evil, kid!)...

But the trade sucks

Ruutu won't be moved, until he comes up for UFA and we let him walk for nothing

As many MST3K fans are on here, we should have our own board(Mitchell, best episode ever!).

Ruutu could be as good as Malkin so this trade is horrible for Chicago IMO. Ruutu is worth far more than moving up 1 spot.

AHAHAHA no. Theres no way Ruutu's going to Pittsburgh unless MA Fleury comes to Chicago (and even then...)

Does his knee surgeon come to us in the deal too?

How do you know that?

Sure, Ruutu is further along in his development than Malkin and had a 44 point season, but he isn't exactly a proven player.

I think RIAL was talking in terms of trade value. The idea being that Ruttu has shown that he can play at a reasonably high level in the NHL, and he is still young with a huge upside. So, his trade value is probably a bit higher than the #2 overall in this year's draft.

Hence why I'm sticking at #2 and watching Malkin turn into a superstar.

No need to give up resources.

A young Mario, you say?

I think that I'm seriously undervaluing Ruutu.

Well, since there hasn't been one of those since Lemieux himself, and there is not one on the horizonfor the forseable future, that would be hard to do.....;

HA! Ruutu for Ovechkin and a first rounder would seem fair

But Pittsburgh couldn't trade their whole team for Ruutu

Supposed to be the next Peter Forsberg and someone was quoted saying "The best player in the world" don't let a bad season (even though it was good by our standards) fool you

Jesus Christ Monkeyballs, overvaluing a little?

I don't want to make the trade because it would cost more than it's worth, but *******...
