NHL Hits leaders

Habs among the top 60 players at their position...

Forwards
14-Lapierre-58
28-A.Kostitsyn-47
46-Pouliot-40

Defense
49-Subban-34
53-Gorges-31

Note that O'byrne is 44th on defense with 36 in 11 games despite having only played half the games of the leaders.

No one is afraid of getting hit by any of our players though so it's really a pointless stat.
Just don't take yourself out of position and blow up the system.

Who cares. Teams aren't happy playing us because we're a skilled and fast team, that's a lot more important.

And ask Chara if he doesn't pay extra attention when A.Ko is chasing him down the corner.

Or Lucic..

Our players finish their checks, that's what matters.

It was another huge mistake to trade a guy who could had helped. You nebver have enough NHL caliber d-men. He is playing 21-22 minutes a game now in Colorado.

I've always stated those statements make no sense and these stats prove it.

I love when AK46 finishes his checks. He's our only forwards that hits hard.

Is there a single team that lacks anyone on the list?

Eller hits pretty hard, he's just a lot more selective. Moen can lay a thick hurt to people too, it just tends to go unnoticed.

Gigantic mistake. We may never recover from trading Ryan Obyrne.

Hmm, cheap hits or hard ''Ovechkin'' type of hits is not what I want my team to do. Clean hits like Subban, Lappy and AK do are to retrieve the puck. It's what I'd want from my players.

Another fun stat, only Boston has allowed more goals than us. 1 less goal and 1 less game.

Price and Thomas are killer this year.

Moen is starting to hit more, so he'll be up there. Gionta has over a hit per game and Eller is showing his physical side.

I don't know if the 1st one was called, but it looks a lot like Boarding to me..

Sorry, but not a very good example of toughness...

Did the commentator seriously say it was a shoulder-on-head play? I didn't know the head was attached to the shoul...DAMN YOU FLAWED LOGIC!

Anyway, it shoulder-on-shoulder. Helen Keller could see that.

Lapierre's hits are like a hugs.....The only players who gives solid hits for the habs are AK & Moen . HM to Subban and Eller.

Sorry but we are not talking about toughness. This thread is about hit and finishing checks.
