I love this team

Yes, this is an announcement. I love this team.

I've been a Flyers fan for about 6/7 years now, but this is without doubt the best team i've ever seen in the orange and black. We've got depth everywhere, quality in every position, likeable players and youth locked up forever. I mean, tonight's game was perfect. A tough road game against the second best defence in the league and we win 6-1 giving up just 16 shots. Incredible. Even if we start losing now, this is fantastic.

Cheers Homer, cheers Lavvy, this is the most fun i've had watching hockey in ages.

I love this team as well, but a healthy 04 team is better than this one.

I'm glad we have a true goalie prospect.

I don't care what anyone says. Bob is the real deal. His attitude and work rate will make him succeed in this league.

We have two. There's Eriksson as well.

I love how reactive Flyers fans are, as soon as we lose a couple games it'll go the opposite fast

Don't get me wrong i've been a fan for 10+ years now and I just try to stay realistic, this is definitely the best Flyers team since '04. I thought for sure we were going to the cup when Primeau tied game 6 that year....

Actually I had a sense they would put together a strong regular season and so far so good even though it's a long season and any major injury/injuries can throw this team off so let's not get too carried away. Just wish it was the end of the year so it would carry over into the playoffs which is what really matters obviously when it comes right down to it. The Caps know all about that..hopefully the Flyers will pull a Detroit and make it back to the finals but not going to be easy. Then again this team seems to overcome things that are not easy....the wins against the Caps and Montreal were nice gut check wins. Last year that would have not happened...

We are 1st in goals per game and 4th in goals against per game.

That's a recipe for success.

Yep the team is playing very well. Good job Homer!! You should have checked this site over the summer. Talk about doom and gloom. But I guess that is why they are the professionals and we are keyboard GM's. Keep piling up the points boys. Happy Thanksgiving

I like the depth of this team, especially on the blue line and all of a sudden the goaltending situation looks pretty damned good. All lines are rolling and maybe my old age (I'm 44 - shut up) has zapped too many brain cells over the years, but I cannot remember the last time the fourth line has played as many important minutes in the third period (thus far). The stats might make me a liar, but that is what I have recalled seeing this season. There have been certain spikes in Flyers teams (2004, 1997, 1987, 1985, 1980, the 1970s) and this iteration is spiking like a mofo. What I am excited about most is the play of the youngsters. Giroux, Leino, Nodl - even van Riemsdyk seems rejuvenated lately. And let's not forget Bobrovsky; and it's not like Richards and Carter are AARP-eligible any time soon.

The best Flyers team I have ever seen was the 1979-80 club that was rooked by Leon Stickle. This team has a similar feel for me.

Capitals also have Mike Green and John Carlson out there protecting leads with a minute to go.

I make an effort not to be too bi-polar. I've been the one sticking up for Homer most of the summer/season.

If Emery had been healthy, we'd be coming off a one year Stanley Cup drought.

The problem is that the best team doesn't always win.

To be fair, I sincerely doubt that Holmgren thought Bobrovsky could be this good this fast. The biggest concern of Flyers fans going into the offseason was the lack ofpar a goalie solution... without Bob, we'd still have Leights and Boosh. He did do a great job of solidifying the 3rd pairing with OD and Mez while the emergence of Nodl has done a lot to cover up Gagne's absence.

I still think people had every right to doubt our goalie situation coming into the season. It was definitely my biggest concern.

And the signing of Shelley for his price-tag was still dumb, despite his all-star goal tonight. And adding Walker's salary.

the Montreal game was a perfect example of why i love this team so much. We had an abysmal first period, the worst of the entire season and then came out and flat-out dominated for the remaining 40 minutes. This team has no quit and even when one or two of our stars are off their game, someone else steps up in their place.

Plus, we've got Giroux.

You can see it every game. The talent, the depth, the swagger. This is a very good hockey team, with the perfect coach to maximize its potential. It's going to be a fun season.
