Haven't actually seen him in the shootout yet. Giroux and Briere are pretty much the leadoff. Flyers have played three shootouts so far this season, including this one, and they've been #1 and #2 on each of them. In the first a 3rd shooter wasn't necessary, as Boucher stopped all 3 shooters. Yesterday, Richards was the third.

I liked that Lavy went with Zherdev tonight. I would have tried to use Leino as #4 though. I'd like to see him perform on the SO.

Leino wasn't in the Line-up for either game that went to a shootout last year after the Flyers had acquired him.

I don't blame Boosh for the loss, Moose played better. But getting beat by Adam Mair from where he did is not acceptable for any NHL goalie. He should not get a pass just because he is a back up who played well.

Personally, I'd go with Giroux, Briere, Zherdev, Leino, Richards in that order. Beyond those guys we don't have anyone who is or would probably be any good at shootouts.

Giroux can't keep using the same move though. It worked the first few times, but he should be more creative then this.

I think JVR coming in wide with his reach could pose a lot of problems for goalie getting their position down ???

What does it matter if it's Adam Mair?

It was literally a perfect ****ing shot that was only allowed because the whole play started from an atrocious pass by Carle that turned into a turnover at the blue-line.

That wasn't a soft goal by any means.

Agree to disagree. Just watched it again and Booshs positioning was awful imo.

We agree on Carle though, he has been way below what he is capable of.

Score more than one goal. If your backup is in, you should expect to have to.

Name me chances the Devils had in periods 2 and 3 outside of that rebound that Boosh **** out right in front of the net so that Rolston could whack at it (not blaming Boosh for the loss obviously).

People who want this team to play their A game for 82 games and consistently score 4 goals per night are just kidding themselves. The schedule is too grueling.

I mean, the way they played, the Flyers win this game 7 or 8 out of 10 times, but because they lost (still 2nd in the conference by the way ****tards), it's a CRISIS and this team is PATHETIC.

Chill the **** out.
I'm with these two. The other team gets paid too. These guys are all professionals and sometimes the other guy is going to win.

Leino has soft hands, and protects the puck really well, but to be good in the shoot out I think you need quick hands. Are Leino's hands quick?

Boosh was more than fine today. Yes, he should save that shot from Mair, but he made up for it later on.
He was the least of our problems today.

I was thinking this earlier as well. Very strong on the puck, hard to take off it, makes great passes and neat plays, I don't think his spin move would work very often IMO.

Could have called a dominate performance with 1 or 2 goals from a mile away when I saw Hedberg was in.

Still, can't complain too much about the last 2 games. I think its tough to get on a team for losing a shootout. Especially when they earned 3/4 pts.

Meh, no way should Boosh get any blame for today. He had to make several tough stops (some because of his own poor rebound control, sure), and actually he should get a pass because he came in as the backup and only gave up one goal. The goal he gave up wasn't great, but he covered 95% of the net and somehow Adam Mair found the one spot. He got ****in lucky. It happens.

Yep, we're at the end of a rough stretch of tightly scheduled games, and managed to pick up points despite not playing our best hockey. Look at the standings. We get to rest and then continue from there. Not the end of the world.

This is what I keep hearing, Boucher was fine.. But real backup Hedberg was better. Right?

Yes we can always blame our team for not scoring more than one goal.

Yeah, Hedberg was obviously better.
And Boosh is not to blame, the skaters are. Hedberg is a very solve-able goalie and this team has to be able to score more than once on him. Simple as that.

Was there a soft goal in the game?

Hedberg always seems to give us problems, IIRC.

Sucks to see us blow a lead in consecutive shootouts, but 2 points out of the weekend isn't the worst thing.

Move along... nothing to see here.

Not to be a jerk, but Bobo hasn't had a shutout either.

He also doesnt let in a "WDF WAS THAT" goal every...single...game. Like when Boosh plays, you should just expect the ********* goals to go in. He didnt have a bad game today, even I agree with that...but to say he was really good? Please. His rebound control is horrendous. He makes some really nice saves because he lets the puck sit infront of him after an average shot.

I'm not saying that at all. But saying we need to score more then one goal because Boosh is in nets, as if we don't need to score more then one when Bobo is in nets, is unfair.

Bobo is a better goaltender now, and has a higher ceiling. I don't really see anyone arguing otherwise.

Wish the Flyers could say the same. Intensity just seems to have fallen off a cliff over the past 10 days, and significantly fewer of the chances they do create are going in.

Gotta wonder if winning too many games make teams lax. Hell caps got shut out like 5-0 against the devils.
