Just don't give Kessel room to shoot, limit the dumb penalties and we should be fine.

I find it hard not to believe that changes will come if the Sens lose tonight.

Firing Murray is the only change that matters.

Nice GDT

As for the game, I expect another loss for us. I'd like to be wrong.

He's likely gone very soon. But what does firing him accomplish? His drafting has been about as good as you can ask for without drafting higher than 9th overall, no GM has had much success in the UFA market and I don't know many GMs that turn their teams around on the trade market either. There isn't much to gain from firing Murray.

I would bet alot of money on Murray not getting fired. I just don't think Melynk will give him another contract and I doubt Murray will want one.

We already have a Fire Murray thread...go hash it out in there.

IF the Sens play like they did yesterday, we'll score 8 goals on them.
IF the Sens play like they did Wednesday, we'll get scored on 8 times.

I think he'll stay until the end of the season, but the grips are on from ownership - he won't be allowed to trade Spezza for a bag of pucks.
Or our first for Blake Wheeler.

In fact, I rather suspect that every move is getting reviewed from the Eugene. It's the norm in the NHL in these situations.

The back to back thing is kinda BS considering the game yesterday was a early game.

It does hurt our feelings but he is technically correct. Watch tonight. Leaf fans drive to this building in droves and there is sweet **** all we can do about until people stop typing on message boards and start buying season tickets.

Firing Murray does nothing but create instability over the next few months while we search for a good GM, which will be next to impossible.

Just let his contract expire and reap the benefits of another one of his drafts. If we can him, we end up with another draft like 2007 . Plus, the crop of college UFAs is looking very good. We know he does well in that department. I'd like another Bobby Butler please.

By July 1st we have another GM to play with some money and bring in some guys to help the youth movement.

I think we'd have to can him on the last day of season to get that good an effect. Most GM's want to take a year to evaluate "what they have" before jumping into the FA market. And we need another elite forward sooner rather than later.

BTW - Semin (hehehe that name) with 17 goals now.

Does that really matter though? There's not going to be much on the FA market anyways. I'd rather avoid another terrible draft.

FA matters. If it's a crummy crop, then lets get the best of the crumbs. Other teams also tend to trade around that time, so they can free up cap space.

Actually, the draft should be able to go ahead without BM. His scouts and people are in place and they won't be leaving in a group.
