Matt Moulson to Habs

Moulson is a UFA in the offseason and haven't seen anything about the Islanders looking to re-sign him. I'm wondering what people think he will/could fetch at the trade deadline.

Habs are in need of a top 6 LW and NYI is still building so something like the following get the deal done?

2nd 2011 (50th overall David Fischer compensation)
3rd or 5th 2012 (conditional if re-signed or not)
for
Moulson

I really doubt the Isles trade Moulson. If so, that offer won't be considered.

Why would Montreal want Moulson? He isn't particularly big and there are guys who should be scoring who can play better then he is. Montreal doesn't need a top 6 guy winger who can barely chip in 30. Get a bigger body who crashes the net often, it'd solve a lot more problems.

Moulson does crash the net often. That's where he gets all of his goals.

People say Pacioretty has no value yet they ask for him in every trade proposal.

matt moulson isnt a little guy. he is a solid 6'1 210 and is on pace for 30 goals again and gets almost all of them crashing the net, there isnt a game where he doesnt crash the net.

I based this off the Nik Antropov and Vinny Prospal deals in the last couple years, I don't see Moulson being worth more than either of these guys.

Prospal (29 goals, 28 assists in 62 games at time of trade)
for
Alexandre Picard (Rnk 7th of Flyer prospects at the time)
Cond. Pick Ended up 2nd (because flyers reached conf. final)

Antropov ( 21 goals, 25 assists in 63 games at time of trade)
for
2nd Rnd Pick
Cond. Pick (Condition was not met)

Do fans see Moulson as more valuable than these guys?

Fair offer.Anything more for Moulson would be an overpayment.

That's fine, because the Islanders are not trading Moulson.

The Islanders are struggling to score goals so I doubt they will trade him for a 2nd round pick.

Not sure if Matt Moulson is exactly the type of players Montréal needs.
I mean a second line two-way LW power foward with size (6'2+/210), speed (important), leadership (it's the perfect player for the Habs).

no they're not offered in every hab proposal, they're offered by the same two dudes who have no clue how to manage prospect assets

Granted he only scored 30 goals in one season... But he is on pace to do it again this season. You speak of 30 goal scorers if they are a dime a dozen. He doesn't score the prettiest goals, but he gets the job done

ahahaha

you can start talking alright, you can start talking to the airline about how Eller has got to be on the next flight back to MTL.

Seriously people need to stop asking about Eller, He is the halak trade PG trades him then its gonna end poorly for all

I very highly doubt that the Islanders trade one of their young talented wingers for low picks. Think again, would the canadiens do this,

To Montreal:
Aaron Ness
3rd round pick

To New York:
Andrei Kostitsyn

no.. well in my opinion Moulson is more talented then Kostitsyn so the trade proposal you made was Awful
