Please show us a link when it is available.

Let me guess, Phoenix, Dallas, St. Louis, Long Island, Buffalo, Toronto, Atlanta Minnesota & Nashville (minority owners)?

They did say who they just said 8 teams. And one would be in Quebec City within 4 years.

Los Angeles is apparently for sale as well. (Guess AEG wants out of the hockey biz in LA)

That's in a different thread? If that's true HF would explode.

According to this article:

Quote:
At least 7 franchises are on the block including the Atlanta Thrashers, Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes and St. Louis Blues.
Add the Sabres and Leafs to those, and that makes 9.

That's a bit misleading though, MayDay. I know, at least, the 'Canes aren't "on the block." Karmanos is looking to sell the minority stake in the team that his former business partner Thomas Thewes held until he died a few years ago.

The Oilers are not going anywhere they have a solid fan base & are making money so there is no reason to leave other then the issue of a new downtown arena that has hit few bumps in the road but will most likely get get bulit . Besides if Katz was going to move the oilers it would be to Hamilton not Quebec City do to the fact that Katz & AEG. about to take over HECFI. the company that owns Copps Coliseum . The fact is the teams that are most likely to move are the Thrashers , Coyotes , Panthers & Blue Jackets with the Islanders & Predetors sitting on the bubble .

So the potential Leaf sale should get potential buyers of other teams all excited. Afterall if Leafs can get over a Billion whats a couple hundred million for a team in the same league.

The $1.3 Billion includes the Leafs, Marlies, Toronto FC, and the Raptors

It is well known as well that the Leafs are the most valuable franchise in the NHL. This shouldnt inflate values of other teams (I wouldnt think)

I guess that means the Leafsf are worth a billion...then the other 3 for $300M...actually even that is high. Leafs are worth $1.15 billion

I take it the rink isn't included??

Time to get out the cheque book, its a buyers market.

Lets see...

- $10,000 down
- taxpayer paid arena
- Get all the other businesses in the area to cover my losses
- Tell Bettman I like hockey

And you too can own an NHL team.

Report from a year ago says the Raptors estimated value is $386 million.

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2009/32/...ions_Rank.html

Maple Leafs at $470 million.

Then why are the Predators for sale? I thought the new owners were doing OK since taking over.

The Predators as a whole are not for sale. The ownership group is looking for minority owners to add that is all.

from what i can tell:
-Leafs, Marlies, Raptors, TFC
-Ownership of the ACC
- Lease and operating rights to BMO field and Ricoh.
- LeafsTV, NBA TV Canada, GolTV Canada

the rest of the commercial developments would stay with OTPP (maple leafs square is supposed to be worth upwards of 500M). Not sure about the outcome of other ventures like restaurants and the like.

Correct, the Predators are owned 97.5% currently owned by Greater Nashville residents. Warren Woo (who was a member of Boots "Forecheck Investments" ownership stake, but had ZERO to do with Del Biaggio's fraud) has re-purchased his 2.5% stake in the franchise, but in common stock. No one has preferred stock in the franchise any longer.

The Predators are currently in the process of finalizing the refinancing of their loan and once that is accomplished they will be looking to add minority investors (primarily from Nashville, but W. Brett Wilson from Calgary will be involved - he has multiple business interests in Middle Tennessee and no interest in buying or moving the team) to reduce their debt.

Nashville is not in danger of moving. Attendance is on the rise and local ownership is committed to making Bridgestone Arena the No. 1 facility in the nation (which is an award they won for the 2nd time in 3 years a month ago) and making a Stanley Cup contending NHL franchise the main tenant.

Ownership is so committed to making it work, that they have honestly discussed building a trophy case in the arena to remind everyone what they are competing for. If you don't follow the team you probably wouldn't believe it, but under Tom Cigarran's leadership...the Predators are committed to bringing the Stanley Cup to Nashville!

...and its only 51% of all those things.

If Rogers was the buyer, all those TV channels would go.
Maybe Tannebaum would be smart and reject them.
