Dustin Penner For Your Team's Higher End Prospects/Picks

IMO he probably makes the most sense to trade from the Oilers perspective. He's big, has good hands, and provides net and board presence. What would you be willing to give up? Keep in mind that the Oilers would likely be looking for a top 6 center or top 4 defense prospects/young NHLers with size.

Maybe Islanders are looking for scoring threat outside of JT? Penner for Nielsen+++?

The most I would be willing to give up as a Ottawa fan is Wiercioch and a salary dump

Eh, probably not. Seems counter productive to a rebuilding team like the Isles.

Still love the Voynov/Hickey + pick, probably the best offer posted by a non Oiler fan

re:

eh butler is american, so is stafford.. our guys have a hard on for canadians...
they might be better suited for toronto..

Since you guys have nobody of interest other than Ennis
if you wanna dump stafford you have to take Horcoff or Gilbert.

I'd still do Hickey and a pick for Penner.

Well then, lets re-submit, ok?

Jason Pomminville for Dustin Penner, straight up.

your first round pick is going to be equivalent to our second round pick lol, so it would have to be
Hickey, a first and a roster player.
If u wanna do a second then throw in greene or schenn.

why would we do some pick and Hickey for Penner though? I just want to know your logic on that trade.

Something more important to the Flyers than Coburn.

Carle may be available, but moving Coburn is not in the Flyers' long-term interests.

I'm strictly talking from an L.A. standpoint. Personally not a big fan of Penner, and Hickey or Voynov and a 2nd is about as rich as I'd go. If the Oilers said no, whatever.

Understandable, I was going to say Coburn or Carle but I picked Coburn, what would it take to get Carle here then?

Penner for Hickey + 2nd is fair. Or Penner for Voynov + 1st.

Penner for a guy like Blum would be unreal though.

penner is highly overrated and the gm's around the league know that. the only way any team is gonna pick him up is if the oilers dump him at the deadline to save money. which would mean underpayment. and fair value imo isnt NEARLY as much as oiler fans think.

Personally, I would rather try to get a pick around #15 for Penner instead of a prospect + a pick in the 25-40 range

We should be targetting teams that are borderline playoff teams with a desperate need to add scoring and make the playoffs...then we hope they still miss the playoffs or go out in the first round, and use that pick + lesser roster player or another pick to move up and get both a D and a C in this draft

That's fine, Oilers fans and management got to see how good this guy was last year. He is getting underrated from other fans.

Late 1st or high 2nd at the very most after the Flyers' season is over. That's just a guess though.

If the Flyers move him that means they're looking for cap to fit Leino under. It's not that they couldn't fit him in there now without moving one of their big 5 defensemen, but it'd be easier.
