I just want to say this. My wife had thyroid cancer. She had her entire thyroid removed. There's 2 things about this:
1 - This is one of the most treatable cancer ever. There are some chemio and radio to do, you remove what needs to be removed, and it doesn't come back. You do need to be checked out though from time to time.
2- What's important is to find the perfect SYNTHROID dose once the surgery is done. It might take 1 month or 2 but at one point, you find it. Until you do, it could be tough playing a sport like football 'cause without a functional thyroid or pills that play that role, there are a whole lot of problems related to this. So you need to find the perfect dose. But you find it eventually. If they do the surgery right away, it should be no problem whatsoever.
Wendsday the Habs better honour the ALS when they will be playing against Edmonton. What a Coinsidence if they do.. Be Honoured by the Habs when they were playing the Host's of the Grey Cup lol

Thank you very much WhiteSnake for sharing this with us. It is good to know than Calvillo will most likely be fine, from a human POV, regardless of what he decides about football.

No problem. People don't know how important the thyroid is to us. You have a lot of respect for it once you go through something like we did. It's 1 pill per day for life for my wife. 'Cause without it, you just can't function properly.
I think that was/seemed pretty serious like many said.
I have someone in my family that thought the world of Pat Burns. She`s in early stages , but people with the problem can always use a role model & what Calvillo just did is good for life.
