Like someone said in the PGT, he should try to convince Kaberle to come to Montréal this summer.

2 years ago when Pleks was struggling, I believed in his talent because at that time, even though he wasn't producing, he showed incredible work ethic. Prior to this season starting, with names like Cammalleri, Gionta and Markov, I didn't expect Pleks to be our best player.

He has suprised me, I didn't expect him to put up PPG numbers and still be so effective in shut down situations. As they pointed out, last year in the playoffs, his production dropped because of the role he was asked to play. What I find is great about him, is he can literally do it all. He can score, he can set up plays and he can shut down the opposition.

Is he married?

No I expected Markov to be our best player. I also expected Cammalleri to put up alot more goals than he has. I also expected Gio to put up more goals.

I expected Pleks to be a 70ish pt type guy, I'm really impressed with how much he's grown and shown that he's a key player.

You think Nash is our most NHL ready defenceman in Hamilton? I know he's big but I haven't seen/heard much of him so I don't know how solid he is.

I think we should sign one of Gill or Picard. Once Spacek is gone, Picard could really step into a #5-6D role if he keeps playing like he has.

Markov - Subban
Kaberle - Spacek
Gorges - Gill/Picard

or some form of that line-up.

Yes I do. He was very good in the pre-season for us and was also very good in the one CBC game I caught this year. He's big, plays a simple, safe, reliable defensive game, and has decent offensive instincts. He's certainly ahead of St.Denis, Petruic, Henry, Carle and Klubertanz in my books. The only one you could make the argument for is Weber, but personally I think he's too weak and liable defensively.

Agreed. And why would Kaberle even think Pleks would consider leaving Montreal for Toronto? If Kaberle wants to win he should come to Mtl.

It's looking more and more plausible in my opinion that Kaberle could come here.

I've been a fan of his for a long time, so I'd welcome him on our team with open arms. Especially if we can get him re-signed at a similar dollar value he is currently signed to, that's a great bargain for him.

It's gonna be a real bidding war for Kaberle this summer.

I've seen fans from every team say that they hope they sign Kaberle, and a lot of teams are banking on it. Being an experienced habs fans, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Markov, Kaberle
Subban , XXX

That would be a pretty good top 4

We shouldn't, but we have a few things going for us in this race for Kaberle too.

-Clearly he and Plekanec are close, and Plekanec is locked up for another 5 seasons here after this one.

-With Hamrlik+Gill winding down we have room to add a Top 4 defenseman at a good salary, and we especially need a good puck mover like Kaberle.

-We are on the path to being a winning team, we have very few glaring weaknesses.

-Kaberle seems to love playing in Canada and in the big market of Toronto, Montreal could be attractive to him because he technically wouldn't have to move his family due to the relatively close distance between the two cities.

Lets worry about Markov having a leg to stand on first.

Having a defense corps with both would bolster us for years to come and considerably ease Subban's transition to becoming our stud blueliner.

It really wasn't hard to do. The guy scored 20goals and many considered that to be a poor year. This guys was going to be a key player for us, I had no question about it. Anybody that didn't see it was quite blind. Yes, I admit that he's become better than what I thought he would, but I had no doubt he'd be a key player for us.

I am glad to see him flat out say that he had a shut down assignment in the POs. Most of us assumed that it was his role, but this simply confirms it.

I didn't know he was good buddies with Kaberle like that, it gives me hope that perhaps, he will be able to lure him here this summer. That would be incredible.

How good was it to hear the ending of this clip though with Ron saying '' Tomas Plekanec, the leading scorer of the top Northeast division team''.
