Widow of Pat Burns victim of theft

Quote:
Montreal police say someone broke into the car belonging to Line Burns and stole a number of her valuable possessions — including jewelry and 30 autographed hockey jerseys.

Police suspect the thieves actually knew the Burns family.

This is absolutely disgusting.

For french people:

I don't think it's new worthy. It's sad, but it feels like cheap news.

That's pretty low if the suspects knew Mrs. Burns.

Apparently I'm the only one that sees sensationalism and hyperbole here. Duly noted.
On the bright side, you guys can all be indignant about the thieves and my post at the same time. Sure to make some people feel better.

So, where'd you stash the jerseys?

I don't think it's the place to express how jaded you are...

Anyway... I hope they find the stolen goods and the culprit. Stealing from a widow on the day of her husbands funeral, how low can you go?

Blah blah blah, I'm a jack ass who tries to act smarter than everyone on an internet forum. Blah blah blah insert really stupid comment here blah blah blah. Duly noted.
in all honesty I'm only kidding here but I want to see your reaction.
I guess it's sure to make some folks feel better about their shortcomings in life, you must be one of those people.

Pathetic. If this thief has a human side, hopefully his/her conscience will make them give the stuff back.

And how exactly is you downplaying this any bit valuable? I would argue that stealing memorabilia of a dead future hall of fame coach (who in fact coached this team) at his own funeral is news worthy. Unbelievable

Really?

Sure, there's a sensationalist side to the story, if only because it's something the media will jump right on. Sure, people will be interested in that story. However, if that's all you see, then I feel bad for you. If you can't feel for a woman who got robbed during her husband's funeral, then there's nothing much I can add, it sucks to be you. Just because worse things happen doesn't mean you have to act all self-righteous about this.

I don't think they were cowards, because it took a lot of balls to do what they did. Just a bunch of creeps who obviously knew her, and knew she would have the stuff in her car.

*sigh*
I guess since I have nothing better to do, and this is weirdly amusing.
Although I'm sure a mod will come and delete this whole conversation eventually.

In all honesty, if I wasn't a compulsive random text highlighter and didn't see the white text, my reaction would have probably been some smug comment about how you followed my directions perfectly by acting indignant to make yourself feel better.

I was downplaying to contrast the hyperbole of the above post.
Which, still, is of no value at all to anyone. My reply to that guy was that his criticism is personally not valuable to me not that it has no value in any greater sense, which it obviously doesn't anyway but that's beside the point.

I never said that I couldn't feel for her. You're just assuming things in the heat of your awesome indignation.

Those items were going to be sold in an auction and the money would go to Burns fondation. Pretty sad thing to do if you ask me.
