D Brian Lee

Shame on Stan Bowman for not trading a 5th or something less for this guy. He's a right handed shot, decent defensive d-man who could have paired with Hendry to form a pretty decent 3rd pairing. It's not as bad as the Bryzgalov screw up, but when you have an obvious need all year and a decent player gets thrown into your lap for pretty much nothing, you must have plans of bringing in someone better in the very near future or you're not trying to win. It's an 875K cap hit which is pennies from our trade deadline fund once you've subtracted one of the other D-men. No excuse unless he makes it to us and we claim him.

I doubt he makes it to us... but if he does Bowman better claim him.

unfortunately that 875k cap # would b significant in the long run! the cap is not as simple as figuring 875k compared to 5k.......wish it was but it aint. Unless blackhawks brass feels he is a legit 5th defenceman than he would make no sense at all.

guys....no offense......but 875k is a very significant number! Especially at this point w Hossa out. also rockford is in texas which really sux in relation to sending morin back down in between games.....i would assume he would technically be sent down after the game and just practice on his own til the recall on friday

He's referring to the back-to-back games the Hogs have in Houston this week

I have it on good authority that Rockford is not, in fact, located in Texas.

I'd rather trade for someone else, but I'd take him over Cullimore and Boynton.

If we claim Lee ,, Waive Hendry that is enough cap

We have enough cap room to carry Morin and Lee while Hossa is hurt

We play Houston on Thursday

It is entirely possible to send a player down after a game on Tuesday night

I need to clarify things so people dont think im a dope......NHL Live! stated yesterday with Don and Stan(the hosts) after they showed the video and had initial info that the injury was substantial. 2/3 weeks to me is not substantial but significant. It was also mentioned it was possibly year ending....their words not mine. Next part.....plz read my post "what can be come march 1 " it explains the cap a little.......I should and prolly will later 2nite post an in depth layman version how the cap works. but real quicky.....dropping hendry for a wild card at 875k is not a good move at all. Hendry can play D and O and is quite serviceable. And at 6k his cap # really helps out and gives us some flexibility. To b honest I'm kinda happy with the exelby signing. I truly believe he is an upgrade from Boynton and Cullimore and may factor in here when he is in game shape. Believe me he will be heavily studied while playing in Rockford. The main issue here is clearing waivers.........Hendry, Scott, Boynton, Exelby and Cullimore will all have to clear waivers if sent down. The hawks with what the are attempting to do with there cap # would not b happy at all if they lost any of those guys. Unfortunately they are our depth and meal tickets to the opportunity to acquire players at the deadline!

This would hardly be an upgrade over Hendry, and we don't need another soft Dman back there. PASS

That may be so, but there next two games are in Houston. Which I have on good authority is in the state of Texas.

Hendry hasn't played in forever and was benched in finals,, It is clear Q doesn't view him as a viable option

If we lost one of Cullimore/Boynton/Scott via waivers no one would be sad

As for NHL live ,,,,, Got sick of the talk of Kovalchuk/Leafs constantly so I haven't watched it in a while

They are never a good source of reliable info on injuries

Lee hasn't played that bad at NHL level and he still has good upside and is young

Hey I admit I got confused

We dont play Texas until next week ,,,, Yes we play Houston but usually people refer to Houston as Houston when talking about upcoming games

I would, if it was Boynton. And I certainly agree that we don't need another soft D man ... and hate to say, but is the one of the reasons Leddy is in the AHL at the moment. I like Campbell and Keith but their physical play is non existent.
