Intermediate Goalie Pants

So I'm having a tough time finding some goalie pants that fit me. I'm 5'5" with a 32" waist and all of the senior pants I've tried on are too long and interfere with...well everything. How much shorter are intermediate pants? As of now, if I pull up a pair of medium Reebok pants as high as I comfortably can they come barely above my knee cap. From the top of my knees to my waist is about 15-16 inches.

What are the other differences I should expect with intermediate pants? Are they also a little narrower and less bulky (which I'd actually prefer)? Do they feature less protection than the senior models?
