Bozak

What's this guy's issue? Is he hurt? Is he just not NHL ready? Will he never be more than a 3rd or 4th line NHL center? He seems so timid out there, it's driving me nuts...I know he has talent, but isn't showcasing it at all.

He's an undrafted rookie who's played 61 games and was expected to be a no.1 centre out of training camp in the most hockey-crazed city in the world so I'd say the ridiculous expectations have biten him.

It's like we never traded Matt Stajan, but at least Stajan hit the 40-50 point mark.

At this time last season was amidst a 32 game stint with the Toronto Marlies collecting 4 goals 16 assists.

Expectations for him were way, way, way too high after putting up points at the NHL level at garbage time last spring.

He hasnt even played a full season yet, its a sophomore slump I think youd be able to recognize it after last year with Schenn. People need to get over it. Remember the brilliance we saw last year? He'll get that again, similarly to the way Schenn got his game back after last year. We've got alot of young 1st and 2nd year players so these slumps are expected

he listens to Just Bieber, what do you expect.

It's just a sophomore slump, Schenn went through the same thing. No need to worry.

hahahah I knew you'd come in to defend your boy kessel, perhaps one of the most one dimensional players in the league.

Hows that going for you?

I never got the whole Bozak phenomenon last year. He came around when I wasnt paying too much attention to the team, he got lucky it seems and racked up some points, potted some gimmes. now he comes in this year and the coaches and fans expect him to replace sundin and be a ppg player... i just don't get it.

he has overhyped bust written all over him. he is the next brandon convery.

are u defending bozak??? he has been invisible. a total let down. ahl'ers could have done more with the ice time and linemates he was given. how is anyone doing this kid wrong? he deserves it, kessel and grabovski will for sure produce offense, and they have. nothing is certain with bozak other than he will not be a top 6 player in the NHL. its pretty black and white.

Got nothing to do with defending Kessel. It's the absurdity of "patience for Bozak" but no patience for the most talented player on the club -- who is younger -- that makes me laugh.

So, you make a large assumption after admitting you didn't pay attention to the team?

Bozak was great last year, not so much "lucky". He has the ability to make great passes, he is defensively responsible and his face off % is very decent.

He is definitely snake bitten, but he is hardly a bust.

bozak has spent much of his time with the first line playing a defensive role because Kessel and CO. have no interest in back checking.

This is the same thing we went through last year with Grabo. Grabo was taking flack from people such as you for not playing up to par and now he is everyones fav leaf.

lol how many more years do you need to watch kessel play to realize what you see is what you get?

He has no heart or drive.

BTW Bozak has played 61 games in his career....kessel has played 316.

One is more deserving of patience than the other IMO.

Well since his game has changed and improved year-on-year, I'm willing to give it more time.

Yeah, that's it. He never gets upset when he doesn't produce. Just collecting a paycheque is ol' washed up Phil...

ive always been a fan of grabovski. and i think kessel's failures have more to do with bozak not being visible to the naked eye than kessels impact o bozak. countless times kessel has made perfect passes or dangled and tangled into prime scorig chances for bozak and versteeg (etc) and they have simply sucked... some of you are ass backwards. and yeah i saw bozak play last year, i just found his emergence surprising and he had everything go right for him for about 10 games... now we see the real picture when its not late season and other teams know who he is. he's the epitome of fringe player. if he had the heart of a similar sized players like sullivan or gionta he might have a future but he doesnt have no where near their will or skill. sorry. BUST
