it's getting old ASF. You really need to stop picking one player to hate on each week.

Oh we're talking career here. I thought we were just talking season. Doesn't matter anyway. Kovy -3 today tied Greene for second worse plus minus in the league

Curious. The first year of his contract was one way, correct? He may have cleared waivers and been sent down, but wouldn't he then have to clear re-entry waivers before being called back up? I don't remember hearing that happen.

Huh I didn't know that. Does his cap hit come off the books after he clears? Also, does he have to clear re-entry waivers to play for the big club again?

He can play with us for the next 30 days but will be sent back down after that if he plays less than 10.

i think he only goes on re-entry if we actually send him down and then recall him. as of now we just have 30 days to send him down without having to go on waivers again

I don't think his cap hit is cleared until he gets sent to Chicago. Also, he can play with Atlanta for up to 30 days after he clears waivers, if not sent down.

Daniel James Heatley (born January 21, 1981) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger currently playing for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers second overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, he won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the top NHL rookie in 2002. However, after being responsible for [1] a car accident in September 2003 that killed teammate and close friend Dan Snyder, he requested a trade and was subsequently dealt to the Ottawa Senators.

Thanks guys. So basically his cap hit stays as long as he is not sent down. If he plays less than 10 games with ATL after 30 days have passed, he must be sent down. What if he plays more than 10 games in 30 days? Does he just stay in ATL, but have to clear waivers again to be sent down?

Well, it's not really all of a sudden; it's just that I recently started to post here. I've always rooted for the Thrashers because I've always rooted for the underdog. Bergfors was a favorite prospect of mine and when he was traded to ATL, I started following them even more. The people on this board seemed pretty chill and I really never noticed them trolling around the site, so I decided I'd pop in here and voice my support of the team.

Don't misinterpret it, though. I'm a Devils fan through and through and will wish you guys the worst of luck when the Thrashers play the Devils.
