It will at least send him a message to get his **** together. The amount of times I've cursed at him this season is incalculable

$85,000 plus change for 60 minutes to sit in the press box. I don't think you are going to get your wish.

$2,397.26

How much Melnyk would pay Spezza for the 3 hours in the pressbox...I would rather have him be a -4 or something like that rather then sit his ass on a chair in the pressbox

How about swap Kelly and Spezza? Might generate something and at the same time send a message.

Edit: And I'm not saying this just because of last night. I don't think he'll go on a scoring streak or anything, but he is responsible enough to play on the top line and would possibly allow Spezza some space to generate some goals.

Spezza makes 8 million this year

Divide that by 82 games.

Oh well this is what I did...(I accidentally did 7 instead of 8 million, but here's how I came up with my number)

8,000,000(Salary) / 365 (Days in a year) = $21,917.81 (Spezza's daily salary)
$21,917.81(Spezza's daily salary) / 24 (Hours in a day) = $913.24 (Spezza's hourly salary)
$913.24 (Spezza's hourly salary) * 3 (Hours he would spend in the pressbox, or playing)

=

$2,739.73

Well there is only 186 days in a NHL season, so if you want to do it daily then you would use that number. But the players are payed to play in the games so it doesn't really make sense to do it your way. Eugene isn't paying Spezza to sleep at night.

Ahhh ok, makes more sense...but either way it would be pretty stupid to put him in the pressbox

Did he have to play in his own end a lot? That's usually where you would see mistakes after switching wings
He was on the ice for a couple of odd man rushes against. He was out of position a couple of times but other than that I think he was fine. Gotta give him a few games to get used to playing with the big boys. He was in a really good scoring position with 5 seconds left in the second but the puck bobbled in his skates.
