Would the Blues make good trading partners?

St Louis lacks natural LW on their team and in their AHL system they lack LW talent plus they lack an adequate back up for Halak.
With top scorer Andy McDonald out they might be ready to make interesting trades.
Halak being young and proven makes Jake Allen a waste in their system and a great bargaining chip.

Tye McGinn or Popov or Welwood along with Leighton or Boucher for G Jake Allen
Gives them their LW in the system that can be a good call up and that secure backup they lack
add Carcillo and get one of ST Louis many centers to stock our system lacking quality centers.
Maybe they prefer Zherdev and one of our goalies and we can get the goalie prospect and a center to stock the Phantoms.

We don't really need a goalie prospect. Bob is here and Eriksson is on his way.

If that offer was still on the table though, I think I'd still do it. However, the Flyers aren't looking to trade anyone really for any reason right now, and I'm not sure that changes before the trade deadline.

No, they wouldn't. Blues always overcharge for everything and expect a discount for anything they want.

I said JVR and Coburn for Johnson and one of the Blues posters didnt immediately shoot it down. Could you imagine that kid after a season or two with Pronger and Timonen showing him whats up?

True we have good goalie prospects but they aren't in the ahl now, I don't think it hurts to add depth and insurance and use them as valuable commodities.

Perhaps we trade Zherdev to a team that needs some offense ie, Wild.
