Good move by Bellator tonight. They moved their broadcast up so their 2 hour event is basically a lead in to the UFC on Fox show.

I like it too because 1 hour events just seem to short. So I will watch both and it will be a nice combo.

The Bellator card is a very good one. Been anticipating it for some time now. Here in Canada Sportsnet has scheduled 2.5 hours for the ufc event, so Im not sure what we will see there. I wonder if they are going to show some of the preliminary fights. I sure hope so.

Well there is a weigh ins and then a pre-fight talk / promo show on Fuel tv here. So basically mostly a big commercial for it with interviews that will be as long as the actual show itself. Then another post fight show again on Fuel tv.

Not sure if that is what they are showing in Canada all as one show with the pre and post fight shows? If you are getting some of the prelim fights that would be cool.

It would be nice to watch the Guida vs Henderson fight on the tv instead of online. Plus obviously there are some other great fights on that card.

For the die hard MMA fans who read this and have HDNet.

HDNet announced last night they signed a deal to show the events of BAMMA from the UK.

BAMMA has been putting on some solid cards recently so I am pretty excited about that news.

The first card will be December 10th which has fighters on it like Frank Trigg, Bellator fighter Judo Jim Wallhead, former TUF fighter Andre Winner etc...

Some of their recent fighter signings are former UFC and Strikeforce fighters like Nate Marquardt, Efrain Escudero, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Joey Villasenor.

Sad to see Shogun lose, but what an amazing fight for both fighters.

Yeah that was an amazing fight.

It was a great night for MMA. Because I am not sure how many of you watched Bellator the same night?

The runner up for fight of the year or competition for it should go to the title fight between Eddie Alvarez & Michael Chandler.

What a great fight, a total back and forth war with guys getting dropped and coming back and just an action packed war the whole fight.

I thought Chandler would be a decent test for Alvarez but that is about it. Chandler was excellent and he is a total beast. What a great upset taking the title and beating one of the top ranked lightweights in the world.

Totally energized watching those fights. Hendo is the man!

I'm sure Dana White was sitting their thinking "Why couldn't this fight have been on FOX?".

Show someone that is on the fence about getting into MMA but would never be willing to fork out the money for PPV the Henderson/Shogun fight and they'd be hooked for life.

Yeah sort of like that Griffin / Bonner war back in the day. I had been an MMA fan for a long time. But that fight turned a lot of people on to MMA. I even showed that fight to a couple guys that did not know **** about MMA. They ordered the next UFC PPV are were really into it after that.

Dana has said that if he could go back in time that he wouldn't change anything about the fox premier. He said he was glad it wasn't a bloody war, as they are trying to ease the mainstream audience into the sport.

Alvarez Chandlher was awesome! Chandlher is a beast

Hendo is now in line to fight for the 185belt or the 205belt, which ever presents itself first supposedly

Michael McDonald is a sick fighter, only 20yo and doesnt really have any weaknesses it seems

It's funny to see how bad the MMA guys are at boxing. It's a real good way for them to get better though. I mean if you lose a boxing match to a 42 year old that hasn't fought in 12 years, maybe you'll take your stand-up training a lot more serious.

Good news that Dana White managed to get Fox to expand the next UFC on Fox show. It will not be an hour again. Sounds like it will be in the 90 minute to 2 hours range.

I hated the 1 hour format thing so that is killer.

The Shogun-Hendo fight should have ended in a no contest. Hendo winning by one point isn't decisive enough, they probably just gave the fight to him because Shogun bled.

I really thought it was going to be a draw.

I don't know how they didn't give Shogun a 10-8 for the 5th round.

They may have. And they may have given Hendo a 10-8 for one of the first three rounds.

There is no controversy in who won the fight or how it was scored.

There weren't any 10-8s.

Being in full mount for ~4:30 deserves a 10-8, in my opinion, but I don't really have a problem with them scoring it that way.

Wow Cung Le must have a pretty good agent. His pay for the UFC PPV was the highest on the card by a country mile in a losing effort.

It is funny to think Henderson left the UFC for Strikeforce originally after not getting offered enough money. Surprised White even picked up Cung Le for that kind of dough.
