So if a goal horn sounds in an empty arena, does it still make noise?

I'm sure we'll find out tonight.

Wild - 1 (Brunette)
Phoenix - 3

Scratch bruno or Mittens instead of Sully. I figure the Wild have to go on a 10 game win streak to get back into this and that's impossible. **** you Todd.

Pre-game reading #1: Last week's Phoenix preview. Still the same team, still the same slogans.

Pre-game reading #2: Welcome Back Pierre-Marc Bouchard

Pre-game reading #3: The New Orleans Hornets are now the Phoenix Coyotes of basketball plus a Minnesota connection.

Pre-game reading #4: The Vultures Are Circling. And replace the New Jersey Devils with the Minnesota Wild.

It definitely computes with the way the "more skilled" guys are playing. You forget Sully can score just as much given the chance look at Los Angeles. He has skill.

We don't have to do anything fancy...just put O sully on the top line with Koivu and Bruno. Replace Nystom or Staubitz with Mitts.

*That* computes...

I'd probably run;
Brunette - Koivu - O'Sullivan
Havlat - Brodziak - Bouchard
Miettinen - Cullen - Kobasew
Nystrom - Madden - Clutterbuck

This season right now feels even more hopeless then last season, lets just keep tanking so we get first pick.

If they don't win another game, they will still get 10th pick

Sounds good, but I'd switch Miettinen and Clutterbuck. I think Clutterbuck's worked well so far on Cullen's wing.

I've seen O'Sullivan make some good defensive plays since he's been here. So, I don't understand anyone who says he doesn't play any defense.

it's going to be pretty hard not to be smug when POS gets "a chance" and is completely underwhelming. See: Wellman.

I suppose we could fill two lines with these players and have one or two get sort of hot any given night...that's a viable strategy, non?

I'm not betting on POS being the "savior" either...

It's just making me doubt my hockey chops to see so many people bag on Miettinen as being *the* problem on this team. Dude goes out there and works his tail off every shift, has a much improved shot from last season, and people want to scratch him?

How about scratching Madden? Nystrom?

Scratch Mr. Minus Eleven or Mr. Minus Nine.

While I'm bagging on plus/minus...

Has anyone thought to suggest Cam "Minus Nine" Barker sit a game or two? Or are we wondering why Jared "I'm a Midget" Spurgeon is being dressed over Falk or Stoner? A decision that would have made sense, if you are a coach worried about big-bad-Ott, would have been to put Falk or Stoner out there while Ott was playing. Having Falk or Stoner sit in the box with Ott makes a helluvalot more sense than letting him have his "prison" way with our goalie... or our "fragile" star.

I don't get Richards. Really...

I like Miettinen. He works hard and plays a solid two-way game, especially on the PK. I just don't think he's a first-liner, based on his skill or style of play. I agree on scratching Madden or Nystrom.

Who's our 4th center if we scratch Madden? Koivu, Cullen, Brodziak, and...?

Alright, I have to wait the end of the Flyers/Leafs game for watching the Wild game. That's the only stream I could find.

and since I have a free NHL Centre Ice preview this week, I'm recording the game because I can't watch it on my TV tonight. (Don't ask me why I'm recording the game)
