Personally, i feel we should job share kipper and karl. Why not? the season has been written off by fans anyways, might as well develop a goalie with a future while also letting our present day tender play
I would like to see "Vez" get the start; see if he can handle a semi-regular workload, and to see if Kipper has become expendable during the upcoming rebuild.
back to what i said earlier, about the job share, I dont mean split them in half, just give Karl regular starts, like what the Calgary Stampeders did with Reynolds and Cornish, Reynolds got 2 possessions to Cornish's every one.
Maybe something like 2 or 3 games kipper, then Karl gets in there, to get him acclimatized at a more rapid rate to the NHL
I don't think there should be any doubt Karlsson get's the start tonight. But the way Kipper was playing last night, it's tough to not start arguably the hottest tender in the NHL. Tough call for sure.
And yes FF I agree PLEASE get Jokinen off the PP. What a useless pile of garbage that guy is.
On the Fan this morning, Peter Maher was almost positive the Karlsson would be getting the call. Also, another note the Flames have an 11 game regular season losing streak at the pond. They really have their work cut out for them to get a win tonight.
Just looking at our centers.. man it's embarassing. You could put anyone on of those centers on line 1 and any other one on line 4. Morrison, Backlund, Joke and Stajan could all be 1st line or 4th line. Some slightly better than others in that role but man... this is just bad.
While Brent says its part of the job and the risk..there is a very strange vibe today in Anahiem..its a concern to those here - 3 hrs ago

The mood around the Flames is ominous today. Brent Sutter asked about if he was concerned about his job security..he says he's not...more.. - 3 hrs ago
It will be interesting to see if the Flames play their ***** off to save his job, or just lie down and take it (assuming Millions has any clue what he's talking about here).
I stopped trusting Millions' word after he said one summer that Regehr wanted out about a month before he signed the big contract he's on now. He also started the rumor about the Iginla Phaneuf dressing room right. Or at least, he was one of the people spreading it.
That would be sad if it was only Brent, does it not say something that this team would be through 3 coaches in under 5 years.
Yea but I think the team on ice is good enough and I think both Sutters need to go. It's Darryls fault for putting a rookie coach Playfair in, it's his fault for putting Iron Mike in and its his fault for bringing his brother in. Maybe this team just needs the right coach....? I no longer trust Darryl to make that decision. Bring in a new GM and let him decide.
Anyone catch "Flames this Week". The one that was airing a few hours ago with Jay Feaster..... He was going through who was responsible for who in Tampa Bay. He was saying which GM drafted Lecavalier, Richards. The GM who signed St. Louis. Then he went on to say who he was responsible......Andre Roy (been there done that), Fedotenko (mind you he scored that GWG in the playoffs), and Chris Dingman (been there too).
As far as I'm concerned, he isn't the guy to bring in the big names we need. If the Sutters go, I'm not so sure I want Feaster righting the ship, I felt this way before I seen who he was responsible for.
D Sutter at least has a knack for getting the big names when other GM's are after them as well. J-Bou, Camalleri, Jokinen ( I know it didn't pan out, but he was the guy at the time), Tanguay.... If we want a B. Richards, I think Darryl is the guy to get him.
I know his drafting records isn't great, but 1)- the scounting staff tells hiim who to draft, and 2) -some of the ones he's drafted, aren't turning out to be too bad.
