If quebec have a confirmation of a new arena will be built, they will pass before winnipeg for sure

And this confirmation will be soon

What do you base this on?

True...but not in this case.

Look, I'm a rather optimistic person. I have my own business and I'm not afraid to take risks. But I'm not an idiot either. I hear warning bells when things sound too good to be true.

The mayor of this city has made a personally cult about himself by putting out insane projects (with federal or provincial money of course) on a weekly basis. But in real terms, very few things have been done. All of his fantasies have failed...whether it is the tramway (reminded me of the monorail episode of the simpsons), the high speed train, the olympic games...you name it. It's one thing to have ideas, it's another to have the means to accomplish them. Quebec city is a small city which is already a huge drain on provincial finances due to its public sector economy. It's easy for the mayor to wake up every other day and demand things like a child in a toy store and send the bill to the upper levels of govt. It makes people dream and he can always blame them for not paying up.

This is all smoke and mirrors to please the simple minded. Bread and circus...
