Frolov for Tyutin.

Expiring contract for expiring contract. Fills needs for both teams.

tyuutin is awesome but im not sure if hes a real gain over any of our defense. certainly not a big enough gain thats worth giving up assets.

He's not going to cost much at this point since they keep using him as a healthy scratch.

IMO its just fodder since the rangers just played CBJ

But i would LOVE to see him back in Rangers blue. That columbus blue just makes him look dirty

Staal - Rosy
Girardi - Tyutin pairing reuinited
DZ - Sauer/Eminger

Pretty damn solid defense.

Staal - Girardi can still be used as a shutdown pairing vs top players.

Interesting. Always liked Toots, but I wonder who they would want for him. With that being said I doubt this happens, but ya never know for sure.

The only reason to get him is to replace a traded Rozsival.

3 paragraph article on the bottom of a Connecticut based info site that follows the whale somewhat, notice they mentioned the wolfpack. Just a bunch of speculation, just as reliable as a rumor started by anybody here (no effense to anyone). Don't get yourselves all worked up with trade proposals and such.

I'm the biggest Tyutin fan out there. HUGE. I used to go by the name of 51tyutin51.

And I can tell you that I find it hard to believe that he wont cost much. Columbus management thinks highly of Tyutin. They view him as their go-to defender. I'd be ecstatic if we brought him back. I always said Tyutin will end up back with the Rangers, but I somewhat doubt this report.

Eh...unless the deal is straight up for Roszival, I'd just pass.

Bringing him in without losing Rozy would add SERIOUS depth to this Rangers defense. Puts Del Zotto on the third pairing where he belongs and the less ice time he sees at even strength the more fresh he is for the PP.

If we can do Frolov + Gilroy/Eminger (even with is recent success) I'm absolutely all for it.

I agree, Eminger has been acceptable as a third pairing d-man, and Sauer has been real solid.

If you can move Frolov and White's cap hits (not necessarily for Tyutin - White will certainly end up in Hartford), and bring in Tyutin, you can rock a d of:

Staal - Rozsival
Tyutin - Girardi
Del Zotto - Sauer/Eminger

for the rest of this season. Then, if you're moving Rozsival during the offseason (which is when I advocate such a move being made), it's a lot easier to swallow, because you still have Staal, Girardi, and Tyutin as legitimate top-4 d-men.

Tyutin is under contract already for next season (at ~$2.8m), so we wouldn't need to re-sign him immediately.

If we get Tyutin I think Rozi is a part of the deal.

Frolov, Rozi, Gilroy for Tyutin? It clears cap space so we can make a move for Richards, and it's not completely one-sided. If we don't move Rozi it makes our defense even better, but I don't think they'll take Frolov and Gilroy only, and if we're gonna make a push for Richards we need to do something to clear space.

Staal-Girardi
Tyutin-Sauer
MDZ-Eminger?

Makes losing Rozival a lot easier to handle. This is one of the deals i'd be fine moving Rozi in.

what the christ?

really?

i'd consider turning in my fan card if they made that trade

i loved the guy too, but at this point if he was plopped on our team he'd be competeing with Emminger for the 6th dman spot

This might be the weakest reason I've ever heard on this board to turn in your "fan card". Frolov isn't doing anything, Gilroy isn't doing anything...both are gone at the end of this year and Roszi being gone opens up the cap space needed for richards. Tyutin + Richards vs Fro, ROszi and Gilroy? This you'd turn your "fan card" in over?

Tyutin? No way. Tyutin would be our second pairing left d-man by far.

It makes cap space for us pushing for Richards, puts MDZ on the third pairing which is good for him AND the team, and makes losing Roszival easier (which is what we're going to have to do if we try to fit Richards).

edit- Keep in mind he has a cap hit that is very easy to deal with.
