West Coast Roadtrip #2 Thread

Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton.

Two things...

How many points do you think we need?

and

How many points do you think we'll get?

Anything less then 4 is a lose IMO, but 3 would not be the end of the world.

I think we will get 4.

We SHOULD beat Edmonton, we're better than they are.

We NEED to beat Calgary after what they did to us in Nationwide earlier this season.

We COULD beat Vancouver, particularly if we surprise them. It'll be strange playing against Manny and Raffi, though.

I would like to get 4 out of 6, would take 3, but probably expect 2. At this point, as long as they play well and show progress and an assertive style of play, I'm probably ok with whatever happens. It's going to be a tough trip with 3 in 4 days, then Dallas waiting back here on Saturday.

Better beat the Canucks as I'm going to the game and paid big dollars($120/ticket for lower bowl seats but since I'm taking someone with me, $240!) for a pair of tickets. Also I need the bragging rights.

Wouldn't be surprised if we lost to the Oilers. Oilers are starting to play better. Hall is starting to heat up with the absense of Hemsky. Khabibulin can steal a game for them. As a fan of both teams, hoping for a 3 point game going into OT.

I think we will see a huge win over the Flames.

My predictions....

5-2 win over Calgary
6-4 win over Vancouver
3-2 OT loss to Edmonton

Need all 6. Need to, and should IMO, sweep Alberta. A win to close out the trip would be ideal, but an OTL would be acceptable if Luongo plays.

Edmonton is speed team we will have problems it is a chance if we will play hard, very hard, minimum as against Rangers.

Calgary.... it is difficult.

Vancouver is a very good team his defense is better than our, we could problems with its first and second line.

I believe 4 points.

Nash picked a good game to score 3 points. He needs to be in the midst of another hot streak for the Jackets to perform well in another west coaster.

Nash had 6 points in the last 3 game west coast trip (all goals). And as last night showed, as he goes, so does the team.

Notorious Jacket-killer Ales Hemsky is on the IR, so that helps.
We need 6, I think we can get 4, we'll probably end up with 2 or 3.

2 is necessary to not be a failure, 3 is acceptable, 4 would be idle and 5 or more would be great.

What do you mean how many points do we NEED?

We need all the points we can get, in the West. So I'll say 6.

I feel confident that we can get 5 points. Vancouver is hitting some injury bugs right now, so there's no reason we can't get at least to overtime against them. We should beat Edmonton and Calgary ... there's no reason we can't.

4-1 over Edmonton
3-0 over Calgary
3-2 loss to Vancouver in a shootout. Raffi Torres and Manny Malhotra are Vigneault's first two shooters, and both score on the old "Forsberg move" against Mason.

I said it first

I think we need and will get 4 at a minimum. 6 isn't out of the question, but we don't yet have everyone back on the same page, and I'm not sure if we'll get 'em all back on board in time.

We've done pretty well on the road so far, though, so... who knows?

We need EVERY point.

We should beat Edmonton AND Calgary. We can beat Vancouver. We should get 4, I will be disappointed with anything less. I am expecting at least 4, maybe 5 with a point against Vancouver

The Jackets need to come home with at least 2 points out of 6, that is worst case. In looking at the teams we are playing 4 points or more seems possible but season records are results based on the past.

Every game, regardless of the team, can go either way depending on which team wants to win on that given night.

I'm a supporter of youth and European skill but it's time the Jackets get some North American grit into their game. Not huge lumbering player grit, finish your check and eyeball to eyeball type grit-size is not required to play with grit and fire.

If the Jackets hit, work, finish and battle they will win..

What would you say if I told you we needed that "North American Grit" and we signed Manny and Raffi for our 3rd line and they have been great on the 3rd line this year

I think you will get 4 out of 6, but all in Alberta, none in Vancouver. Does this mean Canada will respect now?

Is that Boomer dude on the road trip as well?

I've been saying this for years and I'll reiterate here as I believe the premise still holds -- There is no team in the league the CBJ should beat.

Now, that doesn't take into account another premise, which I also believe holds -- There is no team in the league the CBJ couldn't beat.

Gotta have at least 4 points - although if 2 of those come in OTLs, that could feed any "lack of confidence" thing that might be lingering.
