I'm not saying its a bad thing TSN is gushing over Kuz. I'm just stating why there doing it. TSN guys focus more on NHL so its understandable they don't know much about the Russians, Slovaks, Czechs, and so on.

I agree about Tarasenko. He had a fantastic first period.

It doesn't have to be a huge slap shot that goes top shelf. I nice low hard slapper does a lot of wonders.

Rationally as well, what he did in fifteen minutes last night was out and out ridiculous. It makes sense that they are hyping him.

Nice hit by Orlov, taking the body of a Swede streaking towards the net from the corner. Knocked him off the puck and ended the scoring opportunity.

Swedes to the PP on an unrelated penalty by a non-Cap.

I thought he passed the puck too much. But what was interesting is that it was the other D pounding it from the point just to have Finland and Canada eat the shots. Seemed like Orlov was trying to open up more but on the return pass to the other Dmen the dude would blast it.

Agreed low, hard shots from the point from a dude like that is a must. Opens up a lot.

Kuznetsov on with the second PK unit, gets a nice 1-on-1 shorthanded opportunity, makes nothing of it, toe-picks, and slides headfirst into the boards.

Did you see who the d-man was? Adam Larsson, showing why he's going #1 in the summer.

And a lot of the time I see hes on the left side so its hard for him to get a one timer off. You would think they would play him on the right to get that shot off. He has good playmaking ability though so its not like he only has a slap shot. Which is good. Plus on HockeyDB it lists him as 6 feet and arond 200 pounds. Those are some good numbers.

He's been horrible in this tournament so far, but he's played well in this game.

Swedes get burnt on that one. Shoulda been icing. For some reason that Golubev guy just amuses me, maybe its his flow.

Wow.

Russians ice the puck, so the Swedish defensemen don't really chase it down (no-touch icing in WJC), but the refs don't blow the whistle. A Russian beats them to the puck, throws it out front, and it's hammered home.

2-0 Russia

Smooth pass by Kuz in his own zone.

Kuznetsov's line creates a couple good chances on the next shift. Sweden seems demoralized by the icing non-call.

Stylin' shotblock by Kuznetsov. He lays out like that often, which makes some of his defensive disregard at times all the more puzzling. He's into this one, though. No doubt.
