missing the game because i have my economics final in a half hour and i'm more confident that the sens will tonight, than i am about passing this exam. Probably not the right mentality to have going into this final

that's actually wrong. demand =/= quantity demanded, and supply =/= quantity supplied.

supply and demand are largely independent of each other in the short run.

Senator victories are non-rivalrous - one person's enjoyment of a Senator win does not inhibit another person's capacity to enjoy it as well. Increased demand has no effect on supply - it's like breathing in oxygen.
