Martin and Gauthier have a good relationship, he does not need to send messages to Gauthier through his line-ups. His desire for a big, physical forward is obvious. That's one of the reasons why Pacs was called up.

I hope Martin intends to bring Kostitsyn back in Moen's place on short notice. Its probably a message.

With Kostitsyn in Moen's spot we reunite the ATM line which is a huge plus.

You don't have to agree with his style, but if you think Martin loves Moen on the top 6 then you...yikes. He does so temporarily. AK will be back on the top line very soon, could be a soon as tomorrow.
AK was doing fine with Plec and Cammy at the beginning of the season. Martin put him with Gomez and things went downhill. I dont know what message Martin trying to send. Maybe AK should work harder but He plays well with Plec/Cam.

I dont think They recall Max to put AK specifically on the 4th line. They needed a top 6 forward (Max) but why Moen is still playing in the top 6?

And Moen have been playing on line two for at least 15-20 games on 30 played so far. After that amount of games, its no longer temporarily...

I'm going to take some time off from this BS. Wake me up when free agency comes around, or Jeff Molson cans Martin/gives him something to work with. MOEN IS NOT A FIRST OR SECOND LINE PLAYER! MOEN IS NOT A FIRST OR SECOND LINE PLAYER! MOEN IS NOT A FIRST OR SECOND LINE PLAYER! MOEN IS NOT A FIRST OR SECOND LINE PLAYER! This town is a part of us all. A part of us all. A part of us all!

The chemistry AK has with Cammy and Pleks is undeniable. Martin has been known for being a strategist. Would you not want to try and make the other teams think that you called up Patches to put A.Kost in the doghouse? IMO he is pulling strategy, however if I see Moen in the top 6 again just

Didn't Martin do this with AK last year until he started playing with some fire as he put it. Don't think this is needed again this year. Just put him back with Cammy and plek ffs.

I won't be surprise if Moen start the game with the 1st line but if AK play well with some energy on the 4th line he will be back on the first line quickly.

AK was bad against Detroit and he was average against Toronto. When Martin ain't happy with AK play he put him on the 4th line(he did it last year as well) probably the best way for AK to understand he need to be better.

Some players need less ice time to be shake up

I'm not sure if that's a good stragedy. Do the other team coaches really cares if Habs called Patches to put AK in the doghouse or not? Coaches can adjust themselves during a game if the other team changes the lines.

And it's not a secret AK/Plec/Cam are a good line around the league. Next game is against the Flyers. Peter Laviolette doesn't know that Martin can put AK on the first line during the game?

And for the record, I don't have a problem with Martin per say. He done a great job with the team so far. I just dont get it why Moen is still playing in the top 6.

Lately I'd almost expect something like this (and I'm a JM fan but I just can't stand two things. Frequent line changes and 4th liners playing top line minutes):

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Moen
Pacioretty-Lapierre-Gionta
Pouliot-Eller-Darche
Pyatt-Halpern-Kostitsyn

LOL I'm honestly not kidding it wouldn't even surprise me.

I'm not one of the "DD must get a shot" people.

But with Gomez out I don't see what the big deal is to try one of two options:

1) Eller 2nd line C
2) DD 2nd line C

If Pacioretty is on the 2nd line then #2, if not then #1.

If we loose, will Martin say he wishes he had 22 Moen on his team ?

Game's tomorrow though. Don't they practice on gameday?

This.

Let's not forget Martin was Florida's GM when Gauthier offered him the Montreal coaching gig. It's obvious these two are on the same page. Hell, Martin was the one watching Pacioretty before the call up. We won't see Gauthier lace up the skates anytime soon, but they are pretty much sharing the GM job.

If he is trying to send AK a message, why not do it against the Leafs? Line him up on the 4th line against a team way down in the standings, and then hope he gets the message, and is ready for two teams you are battling for position with.

I wouldn't put it past him. Martin's defensive system is fantastic, but his lines are reminiscent of carbo.

Aw come on dude everyone knows Gionta is a better complement to Plekanec and Kostitsyn than Cammalleri ever was... Cammalleri's a big arrogant ********* with too big of an ego anyway...

I guess/hope Martin thinks he can be even better and wants him to play to his top potential.

While it will boost his confidence, I'm sure he will be way better with Pyatt and Halpern ...
