Capuano

Clearly this guy is waaaayyy over his head but eventually reality needs to sink in and He's got to think "I am ruining whatever coaching career I have by staying on this team" When does pride kick in or better yet reality?? This isnt pee wee hockey where at the end you take the kids out for ice cream.

Garth and Wang are ruining hockey careers with the youth and coaching staff.

I'd love to see Capuano pull a Bill Stewart, but I don't think he has it in him.

i'm shocked no players have spoken out publicly (or even anonymously) on how pathetically run the organization is.

I suppose since there are no veteran players, no players that have any options with their careers at this point, that it's somewhat understandable.

But still, not a single player willing to speak out about this farce!?

Maybe another Brendan Witt or two.

I'd love to see Tavares speak up but he's too young and hasn't earned the right just yet. Streit would be interesting, but he hasn't played (same for Okposo).

This team needs that kind of leadership. Someone with the stones to speak up because this is a colossal sham.

hmm, conspiracy theory...maybe wang put a hit out on streit and ko in the preseason by his own players so they won't speak up...haha.

I did notice that Cap and Gordon look up at the replays on the scoreboard with that same look of disgust on their face. I wonder who taught them that.

The guy took over a horrible team in the midst of a 10 game losing streak...

If that's not being set up for failure, then I don't know what is.

I'm not saying Capuano is the answer, I do believe we need a veteran coach with a winning pedigree for next season, but to think Capuano ever had a shot here at succeeding is naive.

No one here believes Capuano was going to be Al Arbour but I just feel bad for the guy. He was literally thrown to the wolves and I cant understand how we can be so silent about it.

If any one of us were given a job that was doomed to fail would you sit there and take it and say well in 4 months Im gonna be unemployed with no prospects of being hired ever again by another company???

As for players/coaches speaking out.. its only December. If this keeps up we are going to see locker room brawls by February. No way can there be a cohesive unit on this team if they keep losing. I bet there are already cliques in the locker room now. If this season goes without any player incident I would be amazed!!!

The players? They're the ones who have to watch Overspeed and Flounderspeed on the ice and must have to look up to believe what they just did was real.

Ice cream costs $. Maybe wang springs for a bus to take them to Ben & Jerry's on their free cone promo days.

We needed a roster upgrade of $10M, we got a $250k lockerroom upgrade. Maybe instead of $50 in ice cream, we get a $3.99 box of cones.

The Styrofoam ones.

isnt there a king kullen next to the old Dublin Pub on Jericho sell no frills ice cream and cones?

back to the post - There will be some serious locker room drama before this season ends.

Do Wang and Snow Really Care about Us Fans.

The longer Wang and Snow wait on replacing Capuano as coach the more I feel that they just don't care about the fans and attracting UFAs. What are they telling the league when they let Capuano continue as coach? The whole league sees that the team has a problem and is not willing to do anything about it. In fact, it seems the only big thing we did was make matters worse, hence the reason for this thread.

In another post someone made an analogy about a restaurant. Well I am tired of going to a restaurant where they use good (not great) ingredients, but replaced a just okay chef with a busboy and did not look for a real chef immediately.

He was coach of the Islanders in 1999 after Milbury left the bench. After yet another loss, he made comments to the media criticizing the team, the management, and the ownership. Talked about their lack of resources and ability to bring in talented players. "Have you looked at our lineup? Enough said."

He never coached in the NHL again.
