Another bad trade.
He's been a 3rd liner for them during most of the season.

And getting Lisin turned out bad in the end obviously, but we already have enough players like Korpedo in the system anyway.

So sick of White. Can we at least get Grachev or Weise?

Who did we trade for Korp?

Either way, I don't see him fitting on this team whatsoever.

I see him where Fedotenko is, with the potential to grow, but w/e

I'd take a possible Jere Lethinen on this team, personally.

Seems like a good chance to get Biron a start here.

Actually, I think he'd be a perfect fit on THIS Ranger team.

Fast, hardworking, great defensively, tough along the boards.....

Yup. He'd be perfect. Who would he bounce, though? Frolov? F-tank? Obviously with the injury to Cally he'd go in ahead of White.

Another 2 pts tonight? Should bebfairly easy, especially compared to last night. If we can blow out the caps and pens by an 11-1 margin, we can take the Yotes 4-1 or something like that.

Nothing is easy with this team. It should be two points however, yes.

No patch, no numbers inside the jersey = no deal.

Every game is a "classic letdown game" if the preceding game was a win

Eh, I guess it doesn't matter. Just seems beyond ironic that the Rangers are finding success emulating the kind of play Korpikowski is known for a mere 15 months after deciding there wasn't a place on the roster for that kind of player.

I remember hearing he requested a trade, but that was never from "official" sources, so who knows

i wasnt a fan of the trade myself, but Korpis 14 points would be fairly low on our depth charts...

below dubi, cally, gabby, aa, boyle, girardi, stepan, on par with avery frolov and staal, and just a hair over rozsival (whose missed a ton of games) fedotenko, christensen and prust.

its not like those 14 points would make or break us. really there is no regularly playing forward outside of the boogaard/white combination that he would outperform by any measurable amount. you have 11 of our 12 regular forwards at or better than that production...so whats the big deal?

I'm not trying to harp, or claim that Korpi would be a top 6 guy.

I think hes developing into a nice defensive forward. But Ranger management wanted to take a chance on a sniper, so they traded him for Lisin.

Bad move, in the end. But since we have Boyle, Avery, Prust, as well as Weise, Hagelin, and Yogan in the system it isnt as big a deal.

If it isn't a big deal, then was it really a bad move?

Dealing from a position of "strength" in order to take a shot at acquiring something you don't have is generally a pretty good idea.

The Rangers tried to acquire a top six winger in exchange for a redundant piece, and it didn't work out, but they didn't lose anything either.

yeah, a large percentage of us saw the epic fail coming. korpi was a useful player, lisin was a bang or bust player...he busted, and korpi is still a useful player. pretty much how we expected it to go. what i didnt expect is for Prucha to fall off the map like he has. kid works hard, goes to the net. its a shame.

problem is it's always overboard either way. haha when it's good we're a top 2 team when it's bad we are going to suffer through years of losing and bad management.

But the question remains, why not take a chance on moving a guy like him who you can very easily replace through free agency or from within if there is a chance to get back a player who may turn out to be a player a lot harder to attain?

I liked the chance and of course in hindsight its rough but I would make that trade 8 days out of the week.
