Boston has enough center depth to trade Seguin and Edmonton gets their #1 center. Hall fits in nicely into Boston's top 6. Sequin and Eberle form 2/3rds of Edmonton's top line for years to come.
you forgot the

I like the Franson idea too but I'd still rather send Penner off than Hemsky. I just feel we'd be weak on the RW without Ales, LW is looking strong with Hall and Omark/PRV.

Draft day trades involving a roster player for a top-five pick:

-2002: Fedotenko + 2 2nds to TB for 4th overall (Pitkanen)
-2001: Yashin to NYI for Muckalt, Chara, 2nd overall (Spezza)
-2000: Weekes, Kudroc, 2nd to TB for 5th overall (Torres)
-1999: Bryan McCabe, 2000 1st for 4th overall (Brendl)

You're right- I'm crazy, never happens.

No offense Bugg, but your proposal are notorious for placing way too much value in prospects and draft picks.
Yeah, what kind of an idiot trades an established young player for lottery picks? Man, that Peter Chiarelli is a moron.

as far as nashville wasnt forseberg involved somehow. just checked google and it was nashville trading two ufa's to get their pick back.
It just so happened to be Nashville's own pick coming back, but what does that have to do with Forsberg? Are you trying to say that they would have turned down a better pick had it been offered just because it wasn't theirs?

i would say hemsky has a year left and we have a better chance at re-signing him then the preds did with their two players
He has as much- or, to put it another way- as little chance of re-singing here as any first-line player who has spent his entire career playing for a perennially bad small-market team. Do these players re-sign? Occasionally. But I certainly don't feel secure about that and neither should anyone else.

That's all pre-lockout stuff, with the salary cap and such it's a lot harder for those deals to happen.

Lets wake up here, we are going to trade our no.1 pick that is the better player for
Seguin. If we wanted Seguin we would of drafted him. Wake up.

We don't need Legwand. We have Horc already. We are going to trade a younger centreman that makes more points for another 2nd or 3rd line centreman.
