I'm glad to know that Barry is a medical doctor as well as a blogger, I guess he can diagnose an injury within two periods.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the Stars and Sharks go to OT.

Would it be right to bench Doughty? Even though, Murray would never do that.

What pisses me off most is that we should have gotten the point. This is at least the third time this season when we just had to play well for two minutes and go into OT. 4 on 4 against a less skilled team who is tired? We should have won. Then if we didn't finish it there, Quick is one of the best SO goalies in the league against their back-up.

It's just another loss point.

Since Jack had been tagged "minus forever" from some fans, I guess it would now be appropriate to dub Drew "Doh!" Doughty.

at least the Ducks and Yotes lost (even if they got their token loser point), plus EDM are beating the Jackets.

10 for 10 is impressive. it left him a -3 for the game.

He can't bench Doughty without benching half the team.

I still am shocked how depressed I get after every Kings loss. It's so painful.

Then these points stack up and just before you know it, your in the same position as the Rangers were last year, with one deciding win. Not good, not good at all.

not necessarily...it's very possible they get everyone (Pietrangelo, Johnson, Polak, McDonald, Perron) back in the next month, except Oshie. Oshie will be back by late February. The Blues are just trying to stay afloat until the new year when guys start returning...though with concussions (Perron/McDonald) who knows.

I don't have one. He might not be out, but since I think someone said Hammond said 3-4 weeks and it's Willie Mitchell, I would be surprised if he was chipper and okay.

Hopefully he's alright, but it doesn't seem like it.

Why was Poni benched most of the third? He had 3 or 4 shifts.

Talk about it, I am very sad right now losing to a team with that condition of injured players.

Not complaining/chirping or anything here.. This is simply a fact.. If Bernier puts out the same performance Quick did tonight, He gets crucified.

I think he should get Nashville.

In other news: Clifford was our best player tonight.

I'm happy bein 1 and 1 knowing that we played both those games down at least one defenseman for practically the whole games.

Sure Doughty was on the ice for every goal but he wasn't as bad as some are making him out to be tonight. He didn't play every goal the right way but he wasn't truely responsible for them. Each and every one of those were team goals and Quick wasn't sharp. Deffinately a letdown gme.

Why couldn't we lose to the Wings 6-4 and beat the Blues 5-0?

It would have been much nicer.

There's been occasions this year where he's certainly earned it but given the injuries to Mitchell tonight and Greene, no it wouldn't be the best idea right now.

Games like tonight though are at least the times when he would benefit from sitting at the end of the bench missing shifts for half a period or so for some perspective. Doughty was shot out of a cannon to start his NHL career but that doesn't mean he doesn't still need to learn, improve, and be accountable.

So many things to hate.

- Why is Stoll on the PP? I swear I feel like this is a cruel joke someone is playing on us. Let's take a 3rd line center with average offensive skills, a booming, but ridiculously inaccurate shot and run our PP through him, yeah that makes a ton of sense. How many shots did he fire wide tonight? And to make it even funnier you play him over one of your most talented players in Johnson. So sick of this coaching staff.

- The Kings 2nd line, or whatever you want to call the Smyth- Stoll - (Random winger) line is a total joke and has been since Williams left the line. Funny how Willy hasn't missed a beat. Smyth just finds new ways to absolutely suck, tonight it was falling down with no one within 10 feet of him and then losing yet another one on one battle behind the net, but since he re-directed a PP goal in 5 on3 people will say he is contributing. A couple of years ago Marc-Andre Bergeon was dressed as a 4th line winger and pretty much only played on the PP, I think thats something the Kings have to look at with Smyth.

- Sucks about Mitchell, he is clearly injury prone and it was a gamble to sign him. Still like the signing but if he is out long term they need to see what Voynov can do. Drewiskie and Harrold are not everyday NHL players. Would like to see what we have in VV.

- Clifford, despite the dumb penalty at the end is really growing into a player. I think he and Simmonds are going to work really well together for a long time. It's nice to have a tough and gritty element to the team without it being a totally useless goon like Westgarth and Ivanans.

- As for Westgarth... LOL with Murray putting him on the 2nd line. The same thing was done in the past with Ivanans so I don't even bother to wonder anymore, just another mystery with this coaching staff.

Onto Nashville, one of the hottest teams in the league, and then the next night here in Chicago. I would happily take a split.

If he is, he is. Which obviously would suck really bad. But, I'm not believing a thing until Hammond reports it.
