Bergfors On the Block

http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/i...urn-to-canucks

Thrashers want to move Bergfors

Atlanta recently sent out a memo to other teams saying to give them a call if they wanted a forward. I was told Saturday that Niclas Bergfors is the guy they'd really like to move. He was part of the Ilya Kovalchuk deal last February but has fallen out of favor.

i say bring it..move him while he still has value...Dudley/Ramsay have their evaluation in and if he's not part of the future, move him for help now before having to deal with him RFA/offseason trade.

What would it take for the Penguins to get him?

Please note I ignore all answers that begin with "Malkin" or "Crosby".

Pretty much my motto as well. Play em or trade em at this point. Sad to see him go but I'm not sad to see us in 1st place. I will follow the coaching staff.

I think we need to look for a forward that is also money in shootouts. It does make me sad to see Burmi playing with Modin and Stapleton for now though.

Probably the right thing to do.

Ramsay doesn't trust him and there is little point carrying him as a scratch. Lets see what Dudley can get for him.

not sure, Tangardis probably off the table..i think Dupuis would excel in Rammers system..no to kennedy, talbots etc..no to D-men

Anyone know what's going on? Kid's got talent. Everything I've read or heard seems to point towards an effort problem. Or is this something more personal? Weird, anyway. But hey, we're in a great position to make a trade, and no question the kid's got value.

I'm one of the Pens fans that have no problem getting rid of Staal. The team defense has been fantastic without him. Get Bergfors, they'd have an extra $3 million in pay roll which means a lot of money for wingers come the deadline.

Maybe we can take Angelo Esposito back

What's the deal? Is he soft/lazy/kicked Ramsey's dog?

But you'd have to take Modin with Bergfors. It's a clause.

But seriously, Bergfors, Mannino(G), Kozak/2nd? Or another prospect.

I just don't get the thought process on how Modin in the lineup is a better idea. I wish i did though. Guy has 18 pts in 27 games. Is a plus player. And scores goals. I havent seen any terrible plays on defense in any game i have watched. Could it be that Ramsay wants offense control other then shoot when you can? We only had what? 24 shots tonight? and was a key piece in the Koval trade.

Damn, that is disappointing news. Bergfors is very talented and played very well for us last year (and has done pretty well this year as well actually).

I wonder what he did to fall out of favor so fast? Why does Ramsay and crew not like him?

Oh well, we better be able to get a good young talented forward to replace him. Guys like him with little service time are very valuable.

Just have to ask.

In Devils he had 27 points in 54 games before they traded him. Not bad stats for beeing a young guy...so it was a bit surprising Devils trading him to you guys.

Earlier this year (i think) he refuesd to play for team sweden in WC because "he didnīt feel right". Donīt know what his reason was. He was to play for the team. But went home after some practise.

And now you guys want to get rid of him. He is still young...and talented. But i can see a pattern here. Cant say i have followed him much...but still, he seems to have some issues.

Is that true or false? Does he have attitude problems? Is that the reason why Devils moved him and now you guys?

Whatīs the deal with him according to you guys who have seen alot of him (i havenīt)?

there is clearly behind the scenes stuff going on. NJ kept demoting him to the 4th line despite solid points. we keep scratching him.

maybe he is the real locker room cancer?

obviously there is more to it than we know, maybe once he is moved we will find out

The Thrashers should be in no hurry to move him. The team is winning and can afford to let him sit until they get a good offer.

I call ********. No way Dudley plays his cards to the media. Saying that he’s on the block makes him look desperate therefore driving down his value.

The "memo" was he was getting benched for a few games I guess?

If he is on the block, ... or if anyone is on the block for that matter, I think we, despite our ownership situation, have a club that would be attractive to ANY high caliber player where, and I don't blame them, they would avoid us like the plague before.

I am still just shocked over how much things have changed since last season.

IF it's true and not just Canadian media make-up crap, then we won't get more than a prospect IMO. the NHL doesn't work like EA Sports.

I'd take a 2nd rounder for him and get Cormier a look up here. Klingberg will be here next year to take Ben Eager's place too. Call Toronto.

I wonder if the Blue Jackets would trade Filatov for him. Nobody needs a change of scenery more than him, and I'll bet he would be good with Burmistrov.
