This drives me nuts, these are the same announcers who had a rolodex of excuses, that Lucic shouldn't have to fight Laraque, yet these same announcers feel that the non fighter (Subban) should have to answer the bell for every clean hit he delivers. Ridiculous.

It takes alot of balls to dish out critisism to highly skilled players, when your career points total to less than 30.

No, it's because he offers no insight, talks as if he has marbles in his mouth, cannot string together a coherent sentence and has the mentality of a 12 year old.

i just cant beleive its come to this...

everybody and anybody taking shots at our lil ol subban, a kid weve all been following with great excitement over the last 3 years, SINCE draft day even with all those memorable interviews, we all knew one day he'd be in the nhl and dazzle us with some things

but i just cant beleive that 3 years later, there is an ARMY of people, absolutely against this guy, for having a little character and a lil snap, and people just hate this kid, its really unbeleivable to me.. i feel so bad for pk in a way

i mean it might all blow over in a years time, hell it might blow over in a couple months time, but it just feels like hate is ridiculously growing at an enormous rate, spreading to teams who shouldnt even give a ****, i just dont know, is it because of the habs? is it skin color?? it CANt just be because he "talks on the ice" like are you ****ing me? like hes the first person to ever do these sorts of things or say these type of things?? i just cant understand why people feel the need to get on this kids ass, it makes me sick.

If PK was wearing a Canada jersey playing in a international tournament, he would get so much praised in the media across the country.

Damn, it crazy the amount of critizism Subban receives, people hate him, with passion, i wonder if he isnt the reincarnation of Jesus... lol next they will try to hang him on the cross?

its crazy, he is getting sh**t because he plays with passion, and is able to do things others cant do.. also people act like he never fought before, didnt he drop the gloves like twice already? that ridiculous.

I am happy he is part of our franchise, keep it up PK, you know inside of you whats right, let them yap all they want.

omg, imagine if he would play for Toronto, how loved he would be.. (by the media that is, cause real hockey fans, regardless of the city can enjoy his nature)

What did they call Lucic when he didn't want to go with Laraque? A hero?

Bruins chose Zach Hamill and Tommy Cross instead of Subban. Were their scouts blind?

This will forever be a real headscratcher for me and will forever cast doubt in my mind towards the competence involved in the profession of NHL prospect scout.
If they had any sense he would have been a #2 overall pick behind Patrick Kane.
The scouts can't see into the future. Hindsight is 20-20, but clearly at the time of the draft Subban wasn't ranked among the top 30 players for whatever reason. I used to play against him in minor hockey and he was always a very, very skilled player, but I don't think there was ever a chance that he would have even gone in the first round.

He was a good pick up and he's developed way beyond expectation already, but don't question their ability by passing over him. Datsyuk and Zetterberg were both drafted very late in the draft, much later than Subban and scouts had little to no interest in them going into the draft. They just developed at an insane rate, which happens sometimes. It's the luck of the draw. Nobody is perfect.

The thing is, i was aware of skating ability and offensive skill as a d. But the first time i heard him on TV, i knew (like 100% sure) that the kid would in be in the NHL and have an impact

No, if you watched the video that happens to be uploaded on hockeyfights.com, it's from a MESN feed, and it's the broadcast from last night's game (Bruins VS Capitals). That would count as "media", I think.

And I don't think the guy is saying PK should model himself after McQuaid, he's saying "You better watch your ass because we'll beat the **** out of you next time we play". Nice bully mentality. It's just so hilarious how the tough teams LOVE to dish it out, but as soon as they are on the receiving end, they're crying their hearts out.

One last thing: I wouldn't worry about the heat Subban is getting. If Ovechkin played for the Habs during his first few seasons, he would have gotten as much criticism as Subban is getting now, if not more. It's just a matter of being on one of the most followed team. The Canadiens have a lot of fans, but it has an opposite reaction too: they also have a lot of "haters". Give Subban 2-3 more years and people will get over themselves.
