OT: Value of Red Wings Jersey?

Hello All,

I'm brand new to the forum here, but don't actually know too much about hockey. I recently came across a Red Wings jersey that I believe belonged to my dad... I'm guessing it's about 10 years old (but is in brand new condition, never worn). I am trying to estimate the value the jersey, and was wondering if anyone here can help me out. Here are some details...

• Has "Black Practice Jersey" on one of the tags
• Shanahan and #14 name stitched on the back
• Red Wings logo and "A" stitched on the front
• Round "Center Ice" logo stiched on the right shoulder
• All the sewn on patches / numbers are high quality, and quite thick
• Official licensed jersey by CCM
• Still has all the original tags on it.
• Adult XL

I can try and take a picture of it if that helps, but the above is a pretty complete description of it. Any suggestions on price if I was going to sell it?

Price up what customized practice jersey would cost on a merchandise site and then throw it on an auction site to see if you get any nibbles.

Thanks for the advice Shoalzie. I checked into www.icejerseys.com (site advertiser), but not sure if the jersey I have would be considered an authentic or a replica. Any way to tell?

To a collector the jersey really isn't worth anything unless it has a fight strap and a Paul Boyer official equipment stamp on the inside hem under the fight strap.

Without these it is probably worth more as a keep sake than a collectors item.

more likely case: $20, especially considering that its used (even if its like new, its not in the original packaging so thats essentially used)

I can tell you as a collector, it isn't worth any money but with it being your Dad's Wings jersey it must have some sentimental value to you.
