All of Bridgeport's goasl were scored on man advantage situations...and I'd be intersted to see a replay of Sauve's shootout goal--I'm 99% sure the puck snuck in under the crossbar.

We'll take the win!
After all the suspensions etc., I wouldn't be surprised if they were warned by the league. They haven't been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, so they can't afford to lose any more players.

They have to win almost every game to make that happen

With that said, my deepest thoughts on last nights game

Khudobin- They weren't kidding with the Thomas comparisons, battles for every save, exciting style but flops like a fish too much for my taste, did the double pad stack 4 times last night makes the routine stuff look easy, real good with the puck on his stick, shame they didn't get him earlier, a must re-sign in the off season

Alexandrov- played on the PP and for the first time in my viewing the PK, did ok with both, wasn't overly active but was pretty solid overall

Sauve- made things happen when on the ice, has nice soft touch with the puck, kept it simple

Hamill- another good intelligent game from him,Shootout goal was a gem, another one that should be re-signed

Arniel- We got the early season version of him tonight, was flying around, and scored a absolute bomb from the point, (plays point on the PP) nights like this convince me he'll make the show as a full time 3rd liner somewhere.

Goulet! I love his game, not sure why its taking this long for him to be recalled from the ECHL but he moves the puck very well, makes timely pitches, yeah he's a little soft but the kids gotten better

MacDermid- wore the A tonight, usual good effort on the PK, nice mix of skill and grit

Valabik- much better skater than I thought, dude is huge, however seems to be lacking with the hand eye coordination dept and has hands of stone, at this level he's rock solid on D, he's an interesting choice for the 7th Dman in Boston next year

Cohen- much better in his own zone

Caron- stop me if you've heard this before"strong work along the boards tonight" his wrist shot goal must of been close to 95mph

Mikko Koskinen- seems like he fights the puck on every shot, tonight and in the past has very poor rebound control, he may get better over time but glad we didn't draft him

Edwards- still finding his way at this level but he does have some game

Donald- sold at the A level but nothing that says high end anywhere, think poor mans McQuaid AHL version 2.0

Coaching- tonight , no matter the situation he rolled out the next set of D and I liked that, however he blew it in OT not sending Hamill out on the PP

Sauve's shot in the shootout was a goal. Bridgeport crying about Anton tossing the stick shouldn't have mattered because it never should have gotten that far. And what was up with Koskinen's constant interference in the first period?

May not make the playoffs, but I am proud of this team right now. Backs against the wall and undermanned, they have really stepped up. I'd love to see them find a way to beat Portland finally, but I'd be happy just to see them get a point this evening.

Arniel had an extra gear and was all over the place. He seems to have found whatever he lost the middle of the season.

I was impressed with Hamill again and agree with Eric would resign him in a heartbeat. His draft class is starting to break into the league and the guy I saw last night forced my attention.

Caron probably aint long for Providence either- strong game, great shot, love to see him become another Mike Knuble-type player. That shot by him last night was a laser.

I agree, Caron is up in boston next year no doubt. Hamill has been more physical lately and seems to be into the game more,he just seems to have flipped a switch.

Sounds like a guy we could have used

Five games into his Syracuse Crunch career, power forward Brian McGrattan entered the team record books with a purpose Saturday night.

McGrattan set a franchise mark with 13 shots and buried two of them to bull Syracuse past Rochester 3-2 at the Onondaga County War Memorial.

McGrattan tallied his two scores in the first and teammate Maxime Macenauer provided the difference with the game-winner at the 11:46 mark of the third. J.P. Levasseur made 35 saves for the Crunch, which won a season-high fourth straight.

McGrattan said he told linemates Nick Bonino and Patrick Maroon to swarm the net Saturday, and he’d help create some action. Showing surprising jump for a man 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, McGrattan scored on a breakaway, crashed the net for another tally and put several quick, low bids on Amerks netminder Marc Cheverie that were fodder for rebounds.

Sounds like being traded lit a fire under your bff's posterior. Start playing or say hello to the ECHL.

Hutch is in net...

PBees are up 1-0 in the first. EDIT: Smotherman on the PP.

Cohen fought Gallant early in the first, did well to start but ducked away from a number of rights before getting the takedown.

Providence outshooting Bridgeport by quite a bit, again.

Donald had another nice, open ice hit, as he did on Friday. I know someone thought of him as a lesser McQuaid, but the hitting is more Stuart-like.

Hutch lets in a softie...1-1 late in the first.

Second goal similar to the first: a shot from the blue line is tipped and trickles past Hutch. 2-1 Bridgeport.

Bridgeport get a PP goal in the second...Providence is mailing it in so far. Coach calls a TO.

Another Bridgeport PP goal. Hutch is brutal.

Khudobin is in now.

Another PP goal for Bridgeport. 5-1 now. Bruins PK has been terrible all year, and continujes to be so.

Still 5-1 in the third. Lots of minor penalties again.

Bruins 0-6 on the PP today....

Bridgeport beat Providence 5-1 on Sunday.

Smotherman had the only goal from MacDonald and Whitfield.

Hutchinson was pulled halfway through the game after allowing 4 goals on 24 shots. Khudobin allowed 1 goal on 13 shots the rest of the game.

They totally stunk today. Can't really say that anyone played well, and Hutch was awful.

There are a lot of good players down there who would probably have gotten a shot in many other organizations, but not much chance this year with the Bruins. EX. Caron (all year), Arniel, Sauve, Whitfield, MacDermid, maybe MacDonald, Bodnarchuk

PS They did stink today!

There are a lot less skilled players getting full time chances in the the NHL. Check out lineups.

That doesn't explain how well they've played the last couple weeks. The effort just flat out wasn't there today.

I'd say there is some interesting talent down there just not everyone is NHL ready. Caron, Sauve, Arniel, MacDermid are intersting as potential NHL forward prospects, the latter two being bottom 6/3 type players. On defense the intrigue is there time is just needed to evaluate with Yuri, Cohen, and Bartkowski. Kuhbodin is very interesting also but who knows if he is jumping ship next year.

There is talent, but not much experience. Lots of first-year pros. It'll be very interesting to see how they progress.

P-Bruins sign center Kyle MacKinnon out of PC to an ATO.

MacKinnon doesn't have a car so he's riding the bus to practice. Ah, the glamour of pro hockey.

Update on Lane MacDermid notes that he's making steady progress.

PBruins leading Worchester Sauce 4 - 1 12 mins left shots are 43 to 19 PBruins

Is it really to late for the playoffs?
