What's funny is that the story is the Philly collapse when the first 52min was the aberration not the last 8!!!

Coughlins tenure has seen the team be a grade school bully. They beat all of the bad teams but lose to the good teams. How many times have they had a good record going into a big game with another good team only to show their ass? Chi, NO, Philly its the same old song and dance.

A coaching change after next season will probably define the Coughlin era. Either they under achieved with a pretty damn good roster every year(save for 2?) or the roster really isn't that good to begin with & coughlin's prep & determination kept them in the playoff hunt.

At this point no one really knows. I lean towards under achieve but these players disappear pretty big in big spots.

One thing I know FOR SURE is I'm tired of it. Sloppy play, dumb mistakes, & lack of physicality in big games. Coughlin changed his attitude now he needs to change his loyalty to staff & be loyal to the players. Our ST were garbage all year, our pass D is horrendous, & our O is constantly bad late in tough games.

They arent blowing up the roster(I assume) & they aren't firing TC then something else has to change .... Asst coaches r all that's left.

Coughlin says he's not considering making any changes to the coaching staff at this time.

That said, the Panthers and Browns had asked for permission to interview Perry Fewell for their now-vacant HC positions. Wouldn't that suck if the one coordinator worth keeping was the one that left?

Didn't he say the same thing last year the day before Sheriden was fired? I don't think that Fewell did anything to make himself an attractive head coach candidate this year.

The special teams coach needs to go. And I wouldn't be surprised if Gilbride did either.

IMHO Fewell is being interviewed for those jobs because of the rule that requires teams to include at least one minority candidate in their interview process (no offense to anyone).

The Rooney Rule. Guys being brought in to cover that base are typically called up late in the game, right before the final hire is announced. I'd be surprised if both of those teams reached out to Fewell this early in their interview process unless they'd give him legitimate consideration. Impossible to know for sure though.

@ SBOB: Not sure if he said that last year. I'm not a Giants fan, I'm just reporting the news.

David Harris is a FA after this season.

Would love him on the Giants. Desperately need LB help plus the Jets have so many players coming off the books and with the new CBA probably won't be able to afford to keep everyone.

The hot rumor is that they'll keep Holmes and let Edwards walk. After that, they'll have no problems re-signing everyone. Tannenbaum is a wizard with the cap. And if they do have to let someone else walk, I guarantee you it won't be Harris.

Yeah its pretty much a foregone conclusion that Harris isnt going nowhere. Its been said from both sides that he wants to stay and they of course want him to. He's part of the Jets core with Sanchez, Ferguson, Revis and Mangold.

If only they had a d lineman... ugh.

Next season I want the giants to...

A) Get some real linebackers to help out Goff
B) start building some pieces for the future of the offensive line
C) New offensive coordinator
D) New special teams coach

I like most of the pieces of this team, and if Coughlin comes back I hope the Giants do everything in their power to keep Fewell.

No more first round draft picks on D ends...let's get some LB's in here.

Looking forward to a 12-4, NFC East championship 2011-2012 season

Well, finallly heard back from the Giants after writing to them like 3 months ago for my sports marketing class. Sent me a team photo, a picture of Eli, a bumper sticker, and an ad for me to join their VIP Club thing.

Please God let this be true. Can't imagine UConn would be dumb enough to hire him, though. Seems like they are high on Mangini.

Don't know if anyone caught this article on Sanchez. Very touching. I may hate the Jets, but Sanchez is a good guy in my book.

**** like that is always sad to hear. Makes you realize not all athletes are blinded by their own glory, too.

J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!!

but I have a funny feeling we are going to get blown out. I'm just not confident about this team like I was last year. I really lost alot of faith in the defense.

sidenote: If we win tonight the third round pick we traded for Cromartie, becomes a second round. ouch if we don't with the Superbowl. We have alot of needs on defense (dline and lbs) to help rebuild for next season.

Schotty already with some odd playcalling. Momentum swinging pretty well after the LT run and he calls a long 3rd down screen to Cotchery. Meh.
