Oshawa Generals fan here. Your 6th round pick in 2009 Daniel Maggio was just traded to the Generals and I was wondering what Hartford's D would be looking like next year. Basically, I trying to figure out if Maggio will be back to play his overage year in the OHL.
Also, any thoughts on Maggio's game would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Edit: I see that he remains unsigned but I'd still like to know if signed where he fits.
Barabara Underhill, the Canadian skating coach, has been in Hartford three or four tiems working with small groups of players on techniques. Underhill has been credited with Brian Boyle's improved skating, but that's only part of the picture. ."He learned how to scrap, he took the whoile thing this summer, I don't want you think to thnik it was a magic bullet. He worked his butt off all summer to be a more complete player. He's become not a just a fourth line guy, now he's a goal scorer, he's on at important times."
Barb Underhill does it again!!! All Hail the Whale but hallow be Barb Underhill's name. She gets more credit than the new jersey in my book.
I hope they can bring her in to the Westchester facility. Check up on Boyle. Make sure he isn't slacking in technique. I'm sure there are adjustments every player could make to improve their stride, increase their speed, and skate more efficiently to save energy.
It wasn't a cross-check, imho. Cheechoo and Zuccarello were racing for the puck, Zuccarello to try to negate an icing, and Zuccarello just gave him a little shove. But it was enough to knock Cheechoo off balance and send flying into the end boards at high speed. Zuccarello got two minutes for boarding on the play. If Cheechoo hadn't been hurt I'm not sure Zuccarello would have been suspended.
Edit: Just watched it again, and Zuccarello wasn't trying to negate an icing -- it was at the opposite end of the ice. He was racing back on the backcheck to prevent Cheechoo from getting a scoring chance.
