Its all good. I would rather the true info be out there. For some reason I thought Hagelin was a RW and Bourque was a center(probably because he was there in his first WJC).

I think in that first WJC he took the faceoffs, but then went to RW, similar to the Dubi/Anisimov arrangement this year.

Get the hell away from Rangers Zucca. They got only grind/grit-players and not one man who can pass or create goals. Boyle,Stepan, Anisimov,Prust,Avery, Wolski, Gaborik are a bunch of mediocre players. All of them suck. Prust is rust.

Thank you for that reasoned and insightful analysis. I'm sure the fact that Gaborik, Stepan, and Anisimov are simply "grind/grit" players as you put it will come in no way as a shock to them. When I think Wolski I certainly think grit first.

Prust is rust.

That's a great phrase.

Cmon, bro, use some common sense. Obviously the camera holes in the SEL are much smaller.

Our ECHL affiliate is now Greenville. The Charlotte Checkers are now an AHL franchise.

After a stellar senior season as Western Michigan University’s assistant captain and leading point and goal scorer, Campbell has signed a one-year contract with the Connecticut Whale, the New York Rangers’ American Hockey League affiliate.
Quote:
Campbell, a 2007 fifth-round draft pick by the Rangers, will attend the Rangers preseason camp and if he is cut by New York, he will be sent to the Whale’s camp.

“It’s an opportunity for me to prove myself and improve my contract for next year and get a better deal,” he said.

Those guys you mentioned, the Rangers felt that they projected as bottom line players at the NHL level, and were in higher demand because of that.

Max Campbell, I would argue, is more of a longshot then those guys. From accounts I've read, he's a PP specialist type who doesn't play defense and brings nothing physically. Basically, he has to be a top 6 forward to be in the NHL, he won't be playing the role of grinder on the 4th line. Because of that, unless he really develops, he'll likely be nothing more then an AHL/ECHL tweener.

Who's missing from the list as far as new faces (rookies) we'll being seeing on the Whale roster on opening night?

so far I have the following:

Ryan Bourque
Max Campbell
Tommy Grant
Carl Hagelin
Randy McNaught
Jason Wilson
Tim Erixon

Are guys like Oscar Lindberg & Mikhail Pashnin coming to North America on a permanent basis this up-coming season?

Campbell doesn't have the pure skill of a guy like Christensen. Honestly, EC sucks, and yet it would be quite a surprise if Campbell had a comparable NHL career.

I think people are hoping Hagelin competes for a spot on the Rangers. Same with Erixon. Not sure about Lindberg, but I think Pashnin will be in Russia again. I'm hoping they both come to the prospects camp and get invited to training camp. Maybe they'll both end up in Hartford and start getting acclimated to the North America style of play.

I'm also hoping that Jesper Fasth decides to come over, but I think he's a year or two away...

Lindberg should be overseas again.

Fasth should stay in Sweden another two years, IMO.

Whalepack are in need of a veteran goalie... someone proven and solid and constant. I wish Chad Johnson all the best... somewhere else...

This is brilliant.

Zucca - who I love but hasn't really proven anything at the highest level except that he can keep up - is somehow a level above Gaborik, who has almost a .9 points per game average over a decade. Yeah. Makes sense.

Sounds like Pashnin is done in Russia. His contract is expired.
