Don't buy the new Ipod Nano

Just thought I'd warn you guys about this new Ipod Nano touch screen the size of a shuffle.Don't buy it.I bought it a month ago and I have lots of complaint to make:

1st) It is the size of the Shuffle , and I just hate it.You can't grab it correctly and the buttons are in the way everytime you need to pressure with your finger , I'm just furious they dont offer anything that look like the old one.

2nd) You can't really change your songs without looking at the screen , like when you're running or just walking on the street or worst on a bike , you always need to look at it , there's no button you can ''feel'' to change the songs and it is a pain in the ass when you actually experience it.

3rd)You can't actually close it.Like even if you close the screen the battery is weakening so you can't just close it for 3 days on a trip and open it when needed because he's gonna be dead by then.

4th) Talking of battery , it is almost criminal how fast the battery is getting low.

5th) I had it for 1 month , and I was extremely careful with it , and now the sleep/wake button , which is necessary to re-open it if you just let it on the table for 5 minute is now stuck and while I was surfing on the net to see if someone else had this problem I found about 87 topics on multiple site of people experiencing it after a month or so.

And all of this ladies and gentlemen for something like 150$ don't remember the exact price , probably in the 180s $ with taxes.I didnt tried to get a new one yet because who wants to go to the mall in the chrismas holidays , but right after I'm gonna go and anxious to find out what's going to happen.Just don't buy it.

When I was looking at this new toy last week I thought about maybe 3/5 of what you just said

For 150$? just go and pay a 100$ for the touch it's bigger but you get probably the best mp3 player for your money ever made.

I bought the new gen nano to replace my 4th gen.

The only drawback I have is no more games (Peggle ).

For the battery, every iPod is made that way. They just go in hibernate mode.
Remember to stop the music when you get it off your ears. The other night, I was tired and took off the earphones as the music continued to play. The morning the battery was at 50%.

PS: Why carrying a iPod Touch when you have a smartphone? Too much luggage.

Its a downrade from the previous nanos, the ones with the camera and stuff. The screen is SO TINY. I bought it but returned 2 days and got the new touch which is MUCH better.

lol I came in to say the exact same thing. Can't stand Apple, especially at the price for what you get. My Zen is 2.5 years old, works absolutely perfectly, and batteries still last 10+ hours for me.

The best Nano(in terms of looks) is still the first gen. The latest Nano and the short chubby one are probably my two least favourite.

Also, I can't believe someone at Apple actually thought that replacing the buttons with a touch screen on a device that is popular with folks who listen to music while working out was a good idea.

I agree with every said here.

I have a 2nd generation nano I use at the gym and for running. It is awesome. I have an iphone I use to listen to music while on the bus, walking, while in the office, etc and I miss the buttons. I ended up buying headphones with skip/play/pause built in (the apple ones didn't fit my ears at all).

If it ever dies, I will grab something else for running. Sanza clip+ probably.

Don't buy Apple products, period. I'm buying a Zune as soon as my garbage iPod touch dies.

I have the 120GB Zune, and other than being locked into a single music player (which you get with Apple anyway) I can't complain. And the Zune player is about a million times better than iTunes... which goes without saying, because iTunes is the worst music player that anyone could ever use.

Just checked out the current line of Ipods... I'm not big into touch screens, I see that the only Classic model they offer is 160GB and $250! What the hell do I need a 160GB mp3 player for? I barely fill up my 5 year old 30 GB Classic.... They really should give you some more options in terms of storage... If I don't need 160GB, why do I have to spend $250? I need something more in the 20-40GB range.... Don't want an Itouch.... Nano's too small for me....

I honestly don't know what Apple was thinking with that design. A touch screen can only be so small until it gets to be a pain. Especially for me with my humungous fingers.

It's only nice if you transform it into a watch.

Other than that, Apple sucks. Ok it doesn't but oh well, I hate 'em.

I have an old school 80 gig and the battery crapped out maybe a year and a half ago. So I decided I wanted to keep it and paid to have them install a new battery in it. Well here I am now getting maybe 3 hours of charge on my "new" battery. I'm seriously thinking about going with another player once this one is finally dead. Just had enough of Crapple.

Sansa Clip + Monster Turbine Pro Copper earbuds = Awesome.

Need the physical buttons. Apple products are useless unless you're looking at them.

I loathe Itunes and I hate Apple's music files.... I know they are DRM free now but 95% of my music library is in mp3 format and I still rock Winamp so I have absolutely no use for Itunes nor it's file types from the Apple store....

I buy all my music on Amazon or I don't get it at all...

I'm still pleased with my Ipod Classic 30 GB, but if it craps out on me I don't know what I'm going to do if the current Ipod line doesn't suit me... I'd definitely look into trying another manufacturer's mp3 player but Apple certainly has the market cornered on Ipod related accessories and support products... I have 2-3 Ipod stereo's at home already... Ipod docks for my home theater receiver, Ipod cable/hook-up in my truck on my car system, etc... I pretty much have to stick with Ipods to avoid extreme inconvenience.

I don't even know why you'd want a touchscreen that small.

Get the shuffle or iPod touch.

Anything with a headphone jack will work regardless.
